IN THE CITY HALL OF TUSTIN, MONDAY EVENING AT 7:OO O'CLOCK, APRIL 5, 1948
PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: KIDD, CHARLETON, HUMESTON, AND BACON
ABSENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: FORNEY
CITY ATTORNEY C. ARTHUR NISSON, JR. WAS PRESENT.
THE MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING WERE READ AND ADOPTED
ON THE ORDER OF THE MAYOR.
CORRESPON- A LETTER FROM THE TUSTIN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SUGGEST-
DENCE ING TIME LIMITS FOR AT LEAST , 1/2 BLOCK EAST, ½ BLOCK
WEST ON MAIN STREET AND ON THE HIGHWAY AT D' AND MAIN
INTERSECTION WAS PROPOSED BY THEM AND THE IDEA WAS
MET BY A FAVORABLE RESPONSE FROM THE CITY COUNCIL.
THE MAYOR SUGGESTED THAT STREET COMMISSIONER, HUMES-
TON AND STREET SUPERINTENDENT, MCMULLEN, CONFER WITH
THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FOR A
SOLUTION OF THE MATTER. THE CITY ATTORNEY WAS INS
STRUCTED TO ASSIST THE STREET COMMISSIONER AND SUPERIN-
TENDENT IN LEGALLY ARRANGING FOR.THE TIME LIMIT POSTING.
REDLEIN MR. REDLEIN, OF THE TUSTIN MOTEL, WAS PRESENT TO HEAR
TRAILER THE DECISION OF THE CITY COUNCIL WITH REGARD TO THEIR
COURT DECISION IN ALLOWING HIM TO PROCEED TO QUALIFY HIS
O.K.'D TRAILER COURT TO BE LICENSED AS A REGULAR TRAILER
COURT. THE DECISION WAS FAVORABLE AND HE WAS IN-
STRUCTED TO PROCEED TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE
STATE COMMISSION AND COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT TO HAVE
THE COURT LICENSED.
REPORT ON COUNCILMAN CHARLETON REPORTED THAT HE HAD INVESTIGATED
COUNTY DUMP THE CHARGE OF THE DUMP GROUND OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
GROUND AND CONSIDERED THE BILL OF $100.00 REASONABLE AND
RECOMMENDED IT TO BE PAID AS HE FELT WE NEEDED THE
PROTECTION TO DUMP RUBBISH THAT WOULD NOT BE PERMITTED
TO BE DUMPED IN THE COUNTY DUMP GROUNDS. THE CHECK
WAS RELEASED FOR PAYMENT.
SCHULZE APPLI- THE APPLICATION OF MRS. R. W. SCHULZE FOR THE ESTAB-
CATION WITH- LISHMENT OF CHICKEN RAISING EQUIPMENT WAS WITHDRAWN
DRAWN AS SHE REPORTED TO THE STREET SUPERENDANT THAT
SHE WOULD NOT GO THROUGH WITH THE ENTERPRISE.
ORDINANCE ORDINANCE #73 HAD ITS FIRST READING. THE ORDINANCE IS
#73 TO CORRECT THE SALARY OF THE CITY CLERK MAKING IT
$100.00 A MONTH INSTEAD OF THE $50.00, TO GO INTO
EFFECT APRIL 20, 1948
SIDEWALK STREET SUPERINTENDENT MCMULLEN GAVE A REPORT ON THE
REPAIR REPAIR OF SIDEWALKS WITHIN THE CITY BUT FURTHER INVES-
TIGATION WAS NECESSARY BEFORE THE WORK IS ORDERED
TO BE DONE.
RECREATION MAYOR KIDD APPOINTED CQUNCILMAN HUMESTON TO INVESTI_
PROJECT GATE A RECREATION PROJECT TO BE CONDUSTED AT THE HIGH
SCHOOL AND HE WAS EMPOWERED TO PLEDGE THE CITY UP
TO $25,06 FOR THE CAUSE.
BILLS COUNCILMAN CHARLETON MOVED TO PAY THE BILLS. COUNCILMAN
BACON SECOND THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED. OR. CO.
