MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TUSTIN, HELD IN
THE CITY HALL OF TUSTIN, MONDAY EVENING AT 7:00 O'CLOCK MARCH 1, 1948
PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: KIDD, CHARLETON, BACON AND FORNET.
ABSENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: HUMESTON
THE MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING WERE READ AND
ADOPTED ON THE ORDER OF THE MAYOR.
CORESPON- A LETTER FROM GRAVES AND HOWLEY CO. SOUTH B STREET, WAS
DENCE RECEIVED STATING THAT THERE WAS WALNUT TREES IN THE
PARKING THAT WERE DETERIATING AND THEY ASKED THE CITY
TO INVESTIGATE AND HAVE THEM REMOVED. THE MATTER WAS
REFERRED TO THE STREET SUPERINTENDENT FOR INVESTIGATION
AND ACTION IN THE MATTER. ALSO A LETTER FROM W.K.
HILLYARD WITH REGARD TO DRAINAGE DITCH ALONG FIRST STREET
FROM 101 HIGHWAY TO PROSPECT. THIS MATTER, TOO WAS
REFERRED TO STREET SUPERINTENDENT TO GET AN ITEMIZED STATE-
MENT FOR WORK DONE ON THE OPENING OF THE DITCH TO BE
BILLED TO MR. HILLYARD. A LETTER FROM MRS. R.W. SCHULZE,
520 W. FIRST STREET WAS RECEIVED ASKING FOR A VARIANCE
REGARDING HER PROPERTY AT SAME ADDRESS SO THAT SHE MIGHT
ERECT A BUILDING 3Ox20 FOR THE HOUSING AND CONDUCTING
OF A CHICKEN RAISING BUSINESS. A DIAGRAM OF THE
PROPERTY ACCOMPANIED THE LETTER AND THEY PROMISED TO
FAITHFULLY FULFILL THE REQUIREMENTS OF ORDINANCE #44
AND MEET ALL REQUIREMENTS OF THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT.
THEY HAD A LIST OF 6 NAMES OF NEIGHBORS TO SHOW THERE
WAS NO OBJECTIONS TO THE ENTERPRISE. COUNCILMAN CHAR-
LETON AND COUNCILMAN HUMESTON WERE APPOINTED TO FURTHER
INVESTIGATE FOR A SOLUTION IN THE MATTER. THIS IS
TO BE SETTLED AT THE NEXT MEETING.
RAISE CLERK COUNCILMAN CHARLETON MOVED THAT THE CITY CLERK SALARY
SALARY BE FIXED AT $100.00 A MONTH INSTEAD OF THE $50.00.
ATTORNEY NISSON IS TO DRAW ORDINANCE TO PUT THIS INTO
EFFECT APRIL 20, 1948. COUNCILMAN BACON SECOND THE
MOTION. MOTION CARRIED.
REDLEIN MR. REDLEIN, OF.THE TUSTIN MOTEL, WAS AGAIN BEFORE THE
TRAILER COUNCIL WITH REGARDS TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A TRAILER
PARK COURT. NO DEFINITE DECISION WAS MADE IN THE MATTER AS
THEY WANTED A FULL ATTENDNACE ON THE MATTER AND IT WAS
AGREED TO POSTPONE THE MATTER UNTIL THE NEXT MEETING.
BUILDING THE MATTER OF HAVING AN APPLICATION FILED WITH THE CITY
APPLICATION CLERK BEFORE A BUILDING PERMIT IS TO BE ISSUED WAS DIS-
PERMIT CUSSED AND OWING TO THE REQUIREMENTS IN ORDINANCE #76
TO SHOW AT LEAST 7500 SQUARE FEET IN R-1 ZONE. IT
WAS DECIDED TO ESTABLISH THIS FILING OF APPLICATION
BEFORE A BUILDING PERMIT IS TO BE ISSUED.
BILLS THE FOLLOWING BILLS WERE ORDERED PAID AND A BILL FROM
THE SANTA ANA DUMP GROUNDS WAS ORDERED HELD UP BEFORE
MAKING PAYMENT. COUNCILMAN CHARLETON MOVED TO PAY THE
BILLS. COUNCILMAN BACON SECOND THE MOTION. MOTION

ADJOURN COUNCILMAN FORNEY MOVED TO ADJOURN. COUNCILMAN BACON
