PARKING PROHIBITION - RED HILL AND MITCHELL AVENUES
Staff has received a request from Mrs. Doris E. Whitney, Secretary/Treasurer of the
Brighton Terrace Adult Community Association to restrict on-street parking along
Mitchell and Red Hill Avenues during the hours of street sweeping.
A more specific location for this request is at the southeasterly corner of Red Hill
and Mitchell Avenues. The parking prohibition would extend along the southerly side
of Mitchell Ave. a distance of 600 ft. easterly of Red Hill Ave. and along the
easterly side of Red Hill Ave. a distance of 330 ft. southerly of Mitchell Ave.
These areas are shown in red on the attached map.
The City has two areas in town where this parking prohibition during street sweeping
operations is in effect and is working satisfactorily. Both of these areas were
requested by the adjacent property owners, similar to this request.
The suggested signing for this area would be similar to those previously used and
would read as follows:
NO PARKING
6:00 A.M. TO NOON
MONDAY
STREET SWEEPING
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council, at their meeting of March 16, 1981,
authorize the installation of the above mentioned signing on the easterly side of Red
Hill Avenue and the southerly side of Mitchell Ave. as previously described.
It is also recommended that warnings be issued in lieu of citations for the first 30
days after the sign installation.
