MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE 0ITY COUNCIL OF TUSTIM, HELD IN
THE CITY HALL OF TUSTIN, MONDAY EVENING AT 7:08 O'CLOCK FEBRUARY
16, 1948.
PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: KIDD, HUMESTON, FORNEY, CHARLETON,
AND BACON.
ABSENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: NONE
CITY ATTORNEY C. ARTHUR NISSON, JR. WAS PRESENT.
THE MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF FEBRUARY 2, 1948
WERE READ AND ADOPTED ON THE ORDER OF THE MAYOR.
CORRESPON- IN THE CORRESPONDENCE A LETTER WAS RECEIVED FROM
DENCE RAYMOND E. REED, ASSISTANT SECRETARY ORANGE COUNTY
PLANNING COMMISSION WITH APPLICATION #1386, OF REMY
LAGAE FOR A TRAILER COURT TO BE ESTABLISHED ON EAST
FOURTH STREET, NEAR TUSTIN AVENUE. COUNCILMAN
CHARLETON MOVED TO DENY THE REQUEST FOR THE TRAILER
COURT ON THE GROUNDS OF ITS PROXIMITY TO PROPERTY
OF HIGH VALUE. COUNCILMAN HUMESTON SECOND THE
MOTION. MOTION CARRIED.
DEVELOPMENT R.H. HANNAFORD, JR. WAS BEFORE THE COUNCIL TO PRESENT
HANNAFORD A ROUGH DRAWN SKETCH FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF HIS THREE
TRAILER COURT LOTS ON WEST SECOND STREET. HE WAS ADVISED TO ASK
FOR A VARIANCE TO BE PUT BEFORE THE PLANNING COMMISSION.
MORRIS ATTORNEY NISSON NOTIFIED THE COUNCIL THAT HE WAS
VARIANCE ARRANGING TO HAVE ANDREW MORRIS MAKE APPLICATION FOR
A VARIANCE IN ESTABLISHING OFFICES IN HIS APARTMENTS
IN THE 500BLOCK OF WEST FIRST STREET.
JEROME MAYOR KIDD REPORTED THAT AT THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL
INVESTIGATE MEETING OF THE CITIES IT WAS PROPOSED TO HAVE WM.
TAXES C. JEROME TO INVESTIGATE THE TAXES OF VARIOUS FORMS
FOR THE CITIES OF THE COUNTIES. COUNCILMAN CHARLETON
MOVED TO JOIN THE CITY IN THE INVESTIGATION AND TO
PAY OUR PART PER CAPITA IN HIRING JEROME TO LOOK
INTO THE MATTER. COUNCILMAN FORNEY SECOND THE MOTION.
MOTION CARRIED.
TUSTIN ANNEX MAYOR KIDD GAVE A REPORT ON THE MEETING WITH THE
TO DISTRICT1 SUPERVISORS ON THE SEWER PROPOSITION WHICH WAS POST-
#1 PONED UNTIL MARCH 2, 1948, AT WHICH TIME HE URGED ALL
THAT WERE INTERESTED TO BE PRESENT TO LISTEN TO
THE DISCUSSION.
LAW AND ATTORNEY NISSON LAID BEFORE THE COUNCIL A DEAL FOR
CODE BOOKS THE PURCHASE OF LAW AND CODE BOOKS WHICH THEY DECIDED
WOULD NOT BE NECESSARY TO PURCHASE AT THIS TIME.
PURCHASE COUNCILMAN HUMESTON MADE REQUEST FOR THE PURCHASE
BARRICADES OF BARRICADES AND SIGNS TO BE USED ON THE STREET.
AND SIGNS COUNCILMAN CHARLETON MOVED THAT THE COMMISSIONER
ARRANGE AND PURCHASE SUCH. COUNCILMAN BACON SECOND
THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED.
BILLS COUNCILMAN CHARLETON MOVED TO PAY THE BILLS. COUNCIL-
MAN FORNEY SECOND THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED. GEO.
