White, Director of Community Services �✓ �• SUBJECT: RESOLUTION SUPPORTING ORANGE COUNTY ARTS ALLIANCE The Orange County Arts Alliance has been designated by the Board of Supervisors as the group to produce a long-range plan for Cultural growth. In order to qualify for future state funding, the Orange County Arts Alliance's planning process must be ratified by 50% of Orange County cities, representing at least 50% of the population. Staff has reviewed the Alliance's planning process and finds it satisfactory. RECOMMENDATIONS: 1. Adopt the attached resolution, approving of the Orange County Arts Alliance's planning process for the development of the Orange County cultural plan. 2. Direct City Clerk to mail a copy of signed Resolution to the Orange County Arts Alliance, 2036 N. Main, Santa Ana, 92706. WHEREAS, the Orange County Arts Alliance is in the process of developing a long range comprehensive plan for cultural growth within Orange County and, WHEREAS, the City of Tustin agrees with the goal of improving the quality of life of all of our citizens, by increasing cultural awareness and activities so that it becomes a natural part of everyday activities and, WHEREAS, we recognize the benefits of countywide co-ordination and co-operation of cultural planning, and WHEREAS, we are satisfied with the fair and dispursed participation, and representation of artists, art organizations and our constituents in the process of developing and documenting the needs, goals, and objectives for cultural growth, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we hereby approved of Orange County Arts Alliance's planning process for the development of Orange County cultural plan. Lee, the filing of Notices of Determination on Environmental Impact Reports with the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors does not meet the requirement of Public Resources Code, Section 21152. Please be advised that all such notices must be filed in the Public Services Division of the County Clerk instead of the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors commencing immediately. There will be a $2.00 filing fee required for each notice filed if the project originates from any source other than a government agency. Each agency should collect this fee on all new applications commencing forthwith.
