Red Hill Avenue Sidewalk Project
If the Council should so choose to fund the Red Hill Avenue sidewalk
project, there are sufficient funds available in the unappropriated
reserve for contingencies.
There will be no impact on our spending limitation if this project
is funded during 1980-81.

RED HILL AVENUE SIDEWALK PROJECT
MCAS (H) TUSTIN
A request has been received from the Tustin Chamber of Commerce
to accelerate the subject project from fiscal year 1983-84 to the
current fiscal year.. The Chamber letter indicates acceleration
to 1981-82, but a subsequent telephone conversation revised this
time frame to the current fiscal year.
The estimated project cost of $20,600 is a realistic figure and
includes both the sidewalk and a 2" P.V.C. conduit for future
street lights. The proposed sidewalk would be 7'-10' wide as
measured from the curb face of Red Hill Avenue and would contain
treewells at approximately 40 feet on centers for future street
tree planting ....
Staff can support this request subject to the availability of
funding'and to the guidelines of Proposition No. 4 (Gann
Initiative). It would be my recommendation that the City's
spending limit per Proposition 4 guidelines be reviewed with the
appropriations spent to date and all projected expenditures
through June.30, 1981 prior to making any final decision to
accelerate this project or any other capital project to the
curren~ fiscal year.
