THE CITY OF TUSTIN, HELD IN THE CITY HALL OF
TUSTIN, MONDAY EVENING AT 7:00 O'CLOCK,
NOVEMBER 17, 1947.
PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: KIDD, CHARLETON, HUMESTON, BACON AND FORNEY.
ABSENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: NONE
CITY ATTORNEY, C. ARTHUR NISSON, JR. WAS PRESENT.
COMMUNI- A LETTER FROM THE TUSTIN LUMBER COMPANY DRAWING
CATION THE ATTENTION TO THE NECESSITY OF OPENING A DITCH
ALONG FIRST STREET FROM "D" TO PROSPECT. MRS.
LURA LIVENSPIRE, A CORRESPONDENT SECRETARY FOR
THE PARENT TEACES' S ASSOCIATION WROTE THANKING
THE COUNCIL FOR CLOSING B STREET FOR THEIR
CARNIVAL AND THE CHIEF OF POLICE FOR HIS CO-
OPERATION IN MAKING THE CARNIVAL A SUCCESS.
INSURANCE DAVE CARMICHEL CAME TO THE MEETING TO GET STRAIGHT
A SMALL ENTANGLEMENT IN OUR INSURANCE ACCOUNT.
THE ERROR IN THE BILLING WAS LOCATED AND HE WILL
REBILL FOR THE ACCOUNT.
NEON SIGN JOHN PRESCOTT, JOE 0JEDA, OF THE CHAMBER OF
COMMERCE, AND SECETARY, CHARLES GRENWOOD WERE
BEFORE THE COUNCIL WITH A PROPOSITION THAT
CITY AND THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ERECT A NEON
SIGN AT THE WEST END OF THE CITY ON 101 HIGHWAY.
COUNCILMAN HUMESTON MOVED AND IT WAS DULY SECOND
THAT THE CITY JOIN WITH THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
IN ERECTING SUCH A SIGN ON A 50-50 COST BASIS.
COUNCILMAN HUMESTON AND COUNCILMAN CHARLETON WERE
PLACED ON A COMMITTEE TO WORK OUT THE DETAILS OF
THE PLAN.
MAIN ST. THE MATTER OF A LOADING ZONE FOR THE BUSINESS SEC-
LOADING ZONE TION ON WEST MAIN STEET WAS LEFT TO THE STREET
COMMISSIONER AND STREET SUPERINTEDENT FOR RECOMMEN-
DATION.
BILLS: COUNCILMAN CHARLETON MOVE TO PAY THE BILLS.
COUNCILMAN HUMESTON SECOND THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED.
