McFadden Avenue Storm Drain lb. Main St. Storm Drain, Vicinity of williams St. 2a. Main St. Storm Drain, E1 Camino Real to "B" St. 2b. Main St. Storm Drain, 400' Westerly of Centennial Way to Prospect Ave. 2c. Sixth St. Storm Drain, E1 Camino Real to "B" St. 3. Centennial Park, Sidewalk Replacement (Phase II) These request for proposals were sent to three consultant civil engineering firms with the responses being tabulated as follows: PROJECT la & lb BERRYMAN & STEPHENSON, INC., ANAHEIM, CA. $16,600.00 CONSULTANT/PROPOSAL ~4OUNT GOVERNMENTAL PROFESSIONAL SVCS. R.G.B. ENGINEERING SANTA ANA, CA. COSTA MESA, CA. $ 8,800.00 $12,000.00 2a,2b,2c' 20,600.00 14,650.00 21,500.00 3 7,400.00 5,550.00 6,500.00 It is desirable to group these projects into three separate construction contracts because of type of work involved, funding (Redevelopment Agency, Revenue Sharing and General F~nd), and location of work. This grouping would be as follows: Contract I - Projects la and lb Contract II - Projects 2a, 2b and 2c Contract III - Project 3 Projects la and lb will require additiona~ budget appropriations in the amounts of $16,600.00 for the consultant services. The remaining projects, 2a, 2b and 2c, include funding for engineering design services in the original budget figures. Project 3 will also require additional funding in the amount of $6,500.00 for consul- tant services. The request for proposal set a deadline date of April 10', 1981 for all design, work to be completed and ready for bid advertisement. The following recommendations are based upon an analyzation of each consultant's proposal. Also, it is felt that by distributing the workload it will be easier to meet the deadline. AWARD OF CONSULTANT CONTRACTS FOR ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES JANUARY 28, 1981 PAGE 2 Reco~aendation: It is recommended that the Tustin City Council, at its meeting of February 2, 1981, select the following consultant engineering firms to perform the engineering design services for the projects and amounts as indicated below: Projects la and lb - Berryman & Stephenson, Inc. Projects 2a, 2b, 2c - Governmental Professional Svcs Project 3 - R.G.B. Engineering $16,600.00 $14,650.00 $ 6,500.00 It is further recommended that additional funding in the amounts of $16,600.00 for Projects la and lb, and $6,500.00 for Project 3, be appropriated to cover the cost of consultant design fees.
