SUBJECT: AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR STREET
IMPROVEMENTS ALONG SAN JUAN STREET
This project consists of widening along the southerly side of San
Juan St. between Orange St. and a point 1200 ft. easterly. This
work-includes the removal of the existing trees, street paving,
curb and gutter, street lights and sidewalk along the southerly
side of Orange St. It is proposed to plant 26 replacement trees
as a separate project by City forces.
The Engineer's estimate for this project is $67,500.00, as
compared to the original 1980-81 budget amount of $40,700.00. In
addition to the estimated construction amount, there will be a
cost for 26 street trees with root boxes which is estimated to be
$1500.00. Therefore, it may be necessary to authorize an
additional budget appropriation in the amount of $28,500.00,
depending upon what the actual bid amounts may be.
