INFORMATION REPORT
SYCAMORE AVENUE CENTER ISLANDS
At a previous meeting, the City Council requested staff to
investigate the cost for relandscaping the Sycamore Avenue center
islands within the Tustin Meadows area. The islands are
presently planted with sycamore trees and junipers as a ground
cover.
Staff has estimated the cost of removing only the ground cover
junipers and replacing them with a blade grass lawn similar to
that at the Oxford Avenue entrance as follows:
Sycamore Ave Island between Red Hill Ave.
and Devonshire AvenUe
$4,600.00
Sycamore Ave. Island between Centerbury Avenue
and the easterly boundary of the development $5,400.00
The sycamore trees would remain in place.
The main portion of work would be completed by City forces with
only a small amount being contracted. The remaining cost would
be for irrigation and landscape materials.
In the event the council desires to proceed with the
relandscaping prior to the 1981-82 budget year, it will be
necessary to appropriate additional funding as indicated above.
