HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1947 05 19 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN HELD IN THE CITY HALL OF TUSTIN MAY 19, 1947, AT 7 P.M. PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: KIDD, CHARLETON, BACON, HUMESTON, AND FORNEY. ABSENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: NONE CITY ATTORNEY C. ARTHUR NISSON JR. WAS PRESENT. THE MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL ON MAY 5TH WAS APPROVED AND ADOPTED ON THE ORDER OF THE MAYOR. J.L. MCBRIDE, CONSULTING ENGINEER, WAS PRESENT AND INFORMED THE COUNCIL OF A REPORT TO THE STATE HE WOULD MAKE ON GAS TAX AND, GIVE INFORMATION ON HOW THE STATE'S APPROPRIATIONS APPLIED TO HIGHWAYS AND STREETS OF MAJOR IMPORTANCE. HE ALSO GAVE ESTIMATES ON THE PROBABLE COST OF GRADING AND RESURFACING " A" STREET FROM MAIN TO FIRST AND SAID IN THAT AN ESTIMATE MADE A YEAR AGO THE COST WOULD BE AEOUND $3133.00 COUNCILMAN BACON MOVED SECOND BY COUNCILMAN HUMESTON TO ALLOCATE 1/4 CENT GAS TAX MONEY TO GRADE AND RESURFACE SOUTH A STREET FROM FIRST TO MAIN AND RELOCATE MONEY BUDGETED TO LOWER D STREET TO THE ABOVE PROJECT. PASSED. COUNCILMAN CHARLETON MOVED TO HAVE THE CITY CLERK WRITE A LETTER TO THE TELEPHONE AND EDISON COMPANIES INFORMING THEM OF WORK TO BE DONE ON SOUTH A STREET AND REQUESTING THE POLES TO BE SET BACK IN THE PARKWAY. COUNCILMAN BACON SECONDED MOTION. MOTION CARRIED. IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT ATTORNEY NISSON, BE MADE DEPUTY CITY CLERK AND A RESOLUTION IS BEING PREPARED FOR THE ARRANGEMENT. COUNCILMAN FORNEY MOVED TO PAY THE FOLLOWING BILLS. COUNCILMAN HUMESTON SECONDED MOTION. MOTION CARRIED. HAROLD RASMUSSEN $36.00 EARL KIDD . $14.79 JOHN B. UNGER $5.00 LEE'S P.D.Q. SER.
