STREET LIGHTING - HOLT AVENUE
(FILE $2710A)
Staff have received a petition from Mr. Arthur S. Remigio and
four neighbors requesting street lights on Holt Avenue northerly
of Irvine Blvd. The location of the requested street lights
would be on the easterly side of Holt Avenue adjacent to the five
residences. A review of this area at night time did confirm the
need for street lights.
The area in question is not within any lighting district and
would require annexation to the Tustin Lighting District in order
to finance the energy charges.
The easterly side of Holt Avenue contains wood utility poles to
which the luminaires could be attached. This type of
installation would preclude the use of any marbelite standards
and consequently no initial installation cost.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Tustin City Council, at their meeting
of December t, 1980, authorize staff to proceed with annexing the
subject area to the Tustin Lighting District and to proceed with
the request to the Southern California Edison Co. for the street
light installation on existing wood utility poles when said
annexation has been completed.

PETITION TO REQUEST STREET LIGHTING AT HOLT AVENUE
We, the undersigned homeowners, request the City of Tustin
to provide street lighting at the easterly side of Holt Avenue.
We understand that the process involves annexation of the
portion of that street to the Tustin Lighting District and we
do not oppose to such a move. We also understand that no
additional taxes will be assessed on our property because of the
annexation.
