White, Director of Community Servic~ PROCLAMATION HONORING MORMON YOUTH GROUP The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Orange Stake, called us some time ago asking for an appropriate project for a youth group. The Community Services staff suggested Columbus Tustin Park as a likely site, and proposed an outline of the work to be accomplished. On the morning of November l, eighty teenagers and eight adult supervisors were at the park ready to go to work. The group completely litter picked the entire site, painted the storage sheds, painted the dugout benches, pulled weeds, and cleaned the parking lot. All totaled, the youth contributed more than 250 hours toward the beautification and improvement of Columbus Tustin Park. Although the Church is in Orange, the majority of the youngsters reside in Tustin. We feel it's appropriate to honor such an outstanding group of young persons! The group also did a lot of work for the school district on the site, and the effort shown was truly exemplary. I also must acknowledge Russ Churchman and Steve Blankenhorn on the Community Services staff, who did a very capable job of coordination and planning on our end.
