HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1947 02 17 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN HELD IN THE CITY HALL OF TUSTIN, MONDAY EVENING AT 7 O'CLOCK FEBRUARY 17, 1947 PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: KIDD, CHARLETON, HUMESTON, AND BACON ABSENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: FORNEY CITY ATTORNEY C. ARTHUR NISSON WAS PRESENT MAYOR KIDD CALLED THE MlEETING TO ORDER AFTER THE MEETING OF THE PLANNING BOARD MEETING AND ORDERED AND ADOPTION OF THE MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING OF FEBRUARY 3, 1947 AS READ. COMMUNICAT!ONS: A LETTER FROM THE CITY OF SALINAS WAS RECEIVED ON FEBRUARY 5TH AND A COPY OF A RESOLUTION NO. 1477(N.C.S.) RE- JECTING THE CALIFORNIA LEAGUE OF CITIES SALES TAX FOR ASSESSING AND METHOD OF RAISING MONEY FOR CITY REVENUE AS SUGGESTED BY THE LEAGUE AT THEIR SAN DIEGO MEETING OF SEPT. 16, 1946. NO ACTION ON THE MATTER WAS TAKEN AND THE LETTER WAS PLACED ON FILE. O.V.DART MADE A WRITTEN REQUEST FOR A PERMIT TO MOVE IN ON ONE OF HIS FIRST FIRST STREET LOTS A STORAGE BUILDING. COUNCILMAN CHARLT- TON MOVED THAT THE PERMISSION BE DENIED AND SUGGEST TO MR. DART TO SUBMIT THE MATTER TO THE PLANNING COMMISSON. COUNCILMAN HUMESTON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED. RESOLUTION # 190 WAS ADOPTED. THIS RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO CAUSE A CENSUS OF THE CITY TO BE TAKEN. THE RESOLUTION WAS ADOPTED ON THE MOTION OF COUNCILMAN HUMESTON AND 2ND TO THE MOTION WAS BY COUNCILMAN BACON. THE ROLL CALL WAS FAVORABLE WITH ALL VOTION AYE THAT WAS PRESENT. COUNCILNAN FORNEY WAS ABSENT. MOTION CARRIED. ON THE MOTION OF COUNCILMAN HUMESTON THE FOLLOWING BILLS WERE ORDERED PAID: FIRE DPT. $18.00 TUSTIN NEWS $31.41, AND SIGNAL OIL COMPANY $ 4.61 COUNCILMAN CHARLETON MOVED THAT THE MEETING ADJOURN.
