OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN HELD IN THE CITY HALL
OF TUSTIN ON MONDAY EVENING AT 7 O'CLOCK
JANUARY 6, 1947
PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: KIDD, CHARLETON, FORNEY, AND
HUMESTON
ABSENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: NONE
CITY ATTORNEY C. ARTHUR NISSON JR. WAS PRESENT
MAYOR KIDD CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AND ALL MEMBERS
OF THE COUNCIL AND CITY ATTORNEY WERE PRESENT.
THE MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF DEC. 16TH WERE READ AND
ORDERED ADOPTED BY THE MAYOR.
MRS. CHARLES WHITNEY WAS BEFORE THE COUNCIL TO PROTEST
THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SANDWICH SHOP IN THE 500 BLOCK OF
WEST 1ST, BEING, BUILT ADJACENT TO HER PROPERTY. SHE
FELT THAT THE BUILDING SHOUvLD NOT BE PLACED SO NEAR THE
FRONT OF THE PROPERTY AND TO RESTRICT HERVIEW FROM HER
PROPERTY. SHE WAS ADVISED TO CONFER WITH THE CITY ATT-
ORNEY
COUNCILMAN CHARLETON MOVED MR. MARKEL BE PERMITTED TO
CLOSE WEST HALF OF E OR "PROSPECT" STREET FROM 3RD ST.
TO MAIN AND THAT THE CITY BE FREED OF RESPONSIBILITY
DURING THREE OR FOUR WEEKS PERIOD. BARRICADES AND LANTERNS
WILL BE INSTALLED DURING THAT TIME.
CONSULTING ENGINEER ASKED FOR PERMISS!ON TO CONCRETE
WALK AND APPROACH BY GEO. W. MASON CO. EAST OF FRICKER'S
BUILDING ON WEST MAIN STREET BETWEEN FRICKER'S AND
FOLKNER'S GARAGE BUILDING, BETWEEN D AND C STREET ON
WEST MAIN. BLACKTOP THE ALLEY WAY AND CONCRETE SIDE
WALK AND DRIVE WAY APPROACH WITH 6 INCH CONCRETE.
COUNCILMAN HUMESTON MOVED TO GRANT PERMISSION TO ENGI-
NEER MC BRIDE AND C. FORNEY SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION
CARRI ED.
MR. GARLAND CAME BEFORE THE COUNCIL TO MAKE INQUIRY RE-
GARDING ORDINANCE ON AUCTION OF USED FURNITURE. THE
MATTER WAS DISCLOSED BUT NO ACTION WAS TAKEN.
CHIEF OF POLICE MCMULLEN ASKED FOR PERMISSION TO ATTEND
LAW ENFORCEMENT MEETING TO BE HELD IN BRAWLEY JAN 8TH.
C. CHARLETON MOVED THAT PERMISSION BE GRANTED. C. FORNEY
SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED.
C. HUMESTON MOVED TO PAY BILLS SUBMITTED. C. FORNEY
