HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1946 12 1680 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, HELD IN THE CITY OF TUSTIN MONDAY EVENING AT 7 O'CLOCK, DEC.16, 1946 PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: KIDD, CHARLETON, FORNEY, AND HUMESTON ABSENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: JACOBS CITY ATTORNEY C. ARTHUR NISSON JR. WAS PRESENT THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY THE MAYOR AND THE M!NUTES OF THE LAST MEET- ING WAS READ AND ON THE ORDER OF THE MAYOR ADOPTED. IN THE COMMUNICATIONS THE FIRE DEPART- MENT OF TUSTIN NOTIFIED THE COUNCIL THAT JEROME C. KIDD WAS RECOMMENDED BY THE DEPT. FOR THE FIRE CHIEF FILLING THE VACANCY LEFT BY THE DEATH OF E. L. KISER. THE NAME OF ROBERT GEOTTING WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECOMMENDATION FOR THE POST OF ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF, AND THE COMNUNlCATION ASKED THAT THE COUNCIL MAKE THE APPOINTNENTS. COUNCILMAN CHARLETON MOVED THAT JEROME C. KIDD BE APPOINTED TO THE OFFICE OF FIRE CHIEF OF THE TUSTIN FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR THE COMING YEAR AND THAT ROBERT GEOTTING BE APPOINTED ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF. COUNCILMAN HUMESTON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED. ON THE MOTION OF CHARLETON AND SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN FORNEY, ORDINANCE # 69 WAS READ AND ADOPTED. ROLL CALL WAS COUNCILMAN KIDD VOTED AYE; CHARLETON AYE; FORNEY AYE AND HUMESTON AYE. COUNCILMAN JACOBS WAS ABSENT. NO VOTES TO THE CONTRARY. MOTION CARRIED MAYOR KIDD ANNOUNCED THE FOLLOWING NAMES TO THE PLANNING BOARD FOR THE TUSTIN CITY AND COMMUNITY _________________________ ________________________________________ COUNCILMAN HUMESTON MOVED THAT THE MAYOR BE GRANTED PERMISSION TO BE OUT OF THE STATE ON A BRIEF VACATION. COUNCILMAN FORNEY 2ND THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED. COUNCILMAN HUMESTON MOVED THAT THE FOLLOW- ING BILLS BE PAID. CHAS. E. MORRIS $25.72 ORANGE CO. INS.CO. 824.30. HARVEY SIEFERT $16.50. SULLEY MILLER CO. $990.00, SULLEY MILLER CO. $375.00. COUNCILMAN FORNEY SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED.
