DAN BLANKENSHIP, CITY ADMINISTRATOR

SPECIAL SALARY ADJUSTMENT (File 253)
NEW BUSINESS
David Poage has been ~mPloyed with the City as an Engineering Aide
within the Engineering Division since September 24, 1979. At that
time David started at "A" step of the salary range and has progressed
througn his first evaluation period (6 months) bringing him to step
"B" effective March 24, 1980.
David has shown that he is more than capable of performing the duties
of an Engineering Aide. He is currently attending school and working
towards a long range plan of obtaining a Civil Engineering degree.
David's work is thorough, accurate, neat and is a prime example of the
type of work the Engineering Department sets as a departmental goal.
Section F (1) of the Personnel Rules and Regulations provides the vehicle
to reward outstanding achievement and performance by adjusting the salary
rate of an incumbent of a particular position to any step within the
salary range for that class. It is my feeling that David Poage has
shown this ou'tstar~ding performance and I request that he be advanced
from "B" step ($1338) to "D" step ($1475) effective November 3, 1980.
Recommendation:
It is recommended that the City Administrator approve this request
for special salary adjustment for David Poage, Engineering Aide and
forward this item on to the City Council for their approval.at their
October 20, 1980 Council meeting.
