No No (recently repai red) At the locations where the sidewalk has recently been replaced, the roots have been cut back and removed. It is only a matter of time until these root systems will grow backand present problems to the sidewalks. Recommendation: It is recommended that letters be sent to each of the eight locations regarding the removal and replacement of these trees. In. the event the property owners do not desire to have the trees removed at this time, it is suggested that each owner be made responsible for the repair September 22, 1980 Modesto Ash trees of the damaged curb, gutter and sidewalks adjacent to their properties. A large pool of water stands in the street because of the damage to the gutter. The owner and the neighborhood were notified by a hand-out letter of the City's intentions. No objections were received from anyone. RECOMMENDAT IONS: I recommend the tree be removed and replaced with an approved 15 gallon size tree, and that the curb, gutter, street and sidewalk be repaired. HUGH L. Since the removal of this tree would effect your environment and the neighborhood in which you live, we are soliciting your comments on the removal. If we do not hear from you within ten (10) days, we will assume that you have no objection to the removal.
