JAMBOREE ROAD (FUTURE RIGHT OF WAY - NORTHERLY)
The City Council at their meeting of September 15, 1980 requested staff
to review the need for fencing a portion of future Jamboree Road right
of way northerly of Walnut Avenue to eliminate public access to this
parcel of land so as to eliminate its use by dune buggies, dirt bikes
and other vehicles. That portion of Jamboree Road right of way to the
south of Walnut Avenue has been recently fenced per City Council approval.
The following is a recap of the fencing that would be required:
Installation of 160 lin. ft. of 6' high chainlink
fence across the Walnut Avenue frontage of the Jamboree
parcel and approximately 365 lin. ft. at the northerly
end of the Jamboree parcel near the freeway.
525 lin. ft. at $5.50/lin. ft. = $2,887.50 or $2,900.00.
Trinity Broadcasting will be installing a similar type fence adjacent
to their parking lot as shown in red on the attached map.
Previously, the Council authorized an expenditure of $8,000.00 for
fencing on the Jamboree parcel southerly of Walnut Avenue. This
fencing has been completed at a cost of $4,920.00 which leaves an
unexpended balance of $3,080.00.
Recommendation:
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the expenditure
of the remaining balance as needed to install 525 lin. ft. of 6'
high chainlink fence on the Jamboree parcel northerly of Walnut
Avenue as shown in green on the attached sketch.
