THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUSTIN HELD IN THE CITY HALL
OF TUSTIN MONDAY EVENING JUNE 3RD
1946.
PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: KIDD, JACOBS, HUMESTON, CHARLETON
AND PARK
ABSENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: NONE
CITY ATTORNEY GEO. E. BRADLEY WAS PRESENT.
MNUTES ADOP- MAYOR KIDD CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER, AND THE MIN-
TED UTES OF THE LAST MEETING WERE READ AND ADOPTED ON THE
ORDER OF THE MAYOR.
COMMUNICATIONS- CHIEF OF POLICE Wm-BOYD LENTZ HANDED IN HIS LETTER OF
CHIEF OF POLICE RESIGNATION TO TAKE EFFECT AS OF THE FIRST OF JULY, ANDD
Wm. BOYD LENTZ. AND BY A DISISSION OF THE COUNCIL WAS TO BE PAID UNTIL
RESIGNS. JULY 15TH AS VACATION PAY. CHIEF LENTZ'S RESIGNATION
WAS ADOPPTED BY THE COUNClL ON THE MOTION OF COUNCILMAN
PARK AND THE SECOND TO THE MOTION BY COUNCILMAN CHAR-
LETON. MOTI ON CARRIED.
FIRE HALL TO FIRE CHIEF E.L.KISER WAS BEFORE THE COUNClL TO TALK
HAVE REPAIRS OVER THE THE NEEDS OF DOING SOME WORK ON THE FIRE HALL
REPAIRS AND PAINTING. HE STATED THAT THE ROOF PROBOBLY
WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED OR AT LEAST REPAIRED, AND THAT
THE PLASTER SHOULD BE REPAIRED AND PAINTED TO KEEP DOWN
FURTHER DETERIATION. MR.KISER WAS TO REPORT BACK TO THE
COUNClL AFTER A CHECK OF THE JOB WAS MADE AS TO HOW
MUCH WORK SHOULD BE DONE.
THE COUNCIL DECIDED TO OFFER THE WAR COUNCIL $100.00
FOR THE SURPLUS EQUIPMENT WE NOW HAVE AND HOLDING OF
THE GOVERNMENT. THE OFFER WAS MADE ON THE MOTION OF
COUNCILMAN CHARLETON AND THE SEOOND TO THE MOTION BY
COUNCILMAN HUMESTON. MOTION CARRIED.
COUNCILMAN HUMESTON REPORTED THAT HE HAD INVESTIGATED
INTO THE RED CROSS'S SWIMMING SCHOOL PROJECT AT THE
HIGH SCHOOL. HE STATED A SMALL SUM PROBOBLY $25.00
WOULD BE ALL THAT WOULD BE ASKED FOR FROM THE CITY TO
CARRY OUT THE PLAN LAID OUT. COUCILMAN CHARLETON MOVED
THAT THE COUNCIL GO ON RECORD AS BEING WILLING TO DO-
NATE UP TO $25.00 FOR THE CAUSE AND COUNCILMAN PARK
2ND THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED.
COUNCILMAN PARK AND MAYOR KIDD BOTH ASK PERMISSION TO
BE OUT OF THE STATE FOR A TIME OF FROM THREE TTO FOUR
WEEKS, AND COUNCILMAN JACOBS ALSO ASKED FOR THE
PRIVELEGE AS HE WISHED TO VISIT IN OREGON. COUNCILMAN
CHARLETON MOVED THAT THE COUNCIL GRANT THE COUNCILMEN
THE REQUEST AND COUNCILMAN HUMESTON SECONED THE MOTION
MOTION CARRIED.
ON THE MOTION OF COUNCILMAN PARK AND SECONED BY COUN-
CILMAN JACOBS THE CITY CLERK WAS AUTHORIZED TO SIGN
THE PINK SLIP TRANSFERING THE OWNERSHIP BACK FROM THE
CITY TO WM. BOYD LENTZ. MOTION CARRIED.
THE FOLLOWING BILLS WERE ORDERED PAID ON THE MOTION
OF COUNCILMAN HUMESTON AND SECONED BY COUNClLMAN PARK
MOTION CARRIED.

THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED ON THE MOTION OF COUNCILMAN
CHARLETON AND SECONED BY COUNCILMAN HUMESTON. MOTION
CARRIED.
