HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1946 04 16 ADJOURNED MEETING OF APRIL 16, 1946 All members of the Council present except Councilman Humeston. Attorney Frank Bowman represented Attorney Goe. E. Bradley as City Attorney. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kidd and all were Present but CounciLman Humeston. The Council proceeded to canvas the ballot of the Municipal Election of the 9th of April 1946, and the newly elected Councilman took their oath of office and were installed for the respective time provided for by the election. Councilman Park moved for the adoption of the Resolution 168 (a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Tustin, Calif. declaring results of the election). Councilman Charleton seconded the motion. A roll call resulted in all members voting aye, none to the contrary. Notion carried. Councilman Park nominated Jerome C. Kidd to be Mayor for the coming two year term, seconded by Councilman Charleton. Motion carried unanimously thus making Councilman Kidd the Mayor of Tustin for the next two years. Councilman Parks was appointed by the Mayor as Police and Fire Commissioner, Councilman Jacobs as Commissioner of Parks and Play grounds, Councilman Char!etch as Street Commissioner. ResolutionI 169 was adopted on the motion of Councilman Charleton, seconded by Councilmgn Park (this Resolution appointing a City Judge, Chief of Police, and a deputy License and Tax Collecter, Street Superintendent, a Building Inspector, Electrical Inspector and a Plumbing Inspector and fixing their compensation. A Roll Call resul~ ed in all members of the Council voting aye. Motion carried. Resolution 170 was adopted on the motion of Councilman Jacobs, Councilman Charleton seconded the motion. The Resolution Employing Garbage and Trash collectors for the City of Tustin and fixing their compensation. A roll call on the Resolution all voting aye, none to the Conrtary, motion carried. Resolution 171 (A Resolution appointing a City Attorney and fixing his compinsation was adopted on the motion of Councilman Charleton and seconded by Councilman Jacobs. Results of the roll call was that all voted aye, none to the contrary. Notion carried. Resolution 172 (This Resolution fixing the time and place for the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Tustin.) On the motion of Councilman Park and seconded by Councilman Jacobs the Resolution was adopted. The roll call vote on the adoption of the RESOLUTION WAS FAVORABLE, ALL VOTING AYE. ORDINANCE # 68 (AN ORDINANCE REPLACING ORDINANCE #1l AND ORDINANCES AMENDATORY THERE TO, OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN) HAD ITS FIRST READING. COUNCILMAN CHARLETON MOVED THE NEETING ADJOURN, COUNCILMAN PARK SECONED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED. Chas.E.Morris City Clerk Jerome C. Kidd Mayor
