Cla~on DEPUTY CHIEF Dan Blankenship City Administrator City of Tustin 300 Centennial Way Tustin, Ca. 92680 Dear Dali, First and foremost, let me thank you for taking time from your busy schedule to meet with me and my staff on June 4, 1980. As was discussed in that meeting, regarding fire and paramedic services, it is my intention to propose to the Orange County Board of Supervisors that the Fiscal Year 1980-81 price to the City of Tustin be an estimated $806,000. The estimated amount includes the cost for Stations 21 and 37 engines, paramedic, and partial share of a Truck Company. It also includes partial cost of a Battalion Chief, Fire Prevention Bureau and the Fire Suppression Volunteers as well as services and supplies for the Stations. It does not reflect any charge for the ECC, departmental overhead, or back-up support from Fire Stations 8, 26, and 28. This amount is the same as was charged for the present fiscal year, and is justified by a revised manning level of 3.0 to 2.5, as well as the County policy to staff all engines with three post positions. In the event a contract City desires an increased level of fire or rescue service, the City must accept an appropriate additional charge for such service. The Orange County Fire Department, in conjunction with the County Administrative Office, (Management Services Division) is presently conducting an in-depth study to determine actual costs for fire services by station, city, and/or Battalion area. Upon completion of this study, the County and the City will enter into negotiations to determine the methodology for future years cost of service.
