TO: DAN BLANI<ENSHIP, CITY ADMINISTRATOR
FROM: BOB LEDENDECKER, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS/CITY ENGINEER
SUBJECT: ALLEY VACATION AND ABANDONMENT
The attached Resolution is a declaration of intention to vacate and abandon
a portion of an alley between E1Camino Real and "C" Street and northerly of
Second Street, and to fix a time and place of Public Hearing thereon.
That portion of alley to be vacated and abandoned is described and delineated
on Exhibit "A."
The request for this alley abandonment comes from three individuals as indicated
on the attached letter, so that the proposed office building development for
150,160 E1Camino Real and 155,165 "C" Street can proceed per the previously
approved site plan. This alley presently contains a sanitary sewer facility,
which will require relocation. The developers will be required to dedicate a
new sanita)7 sewer easement along the northerly 15 feet of the parcel identified
as 155 "C" Street. The Redevelopment Agency has approved a project to relocate
this sewer to within this easement and along "C" Street.
Records indicate there are no other utility easements located within this alley.
On May 19, 1980, the Planning Agency will be requested to adopt a Resolution re-
commending to the City Council the disposition of this portion of the alley right-
of-way.
The following is the anticipated scheduling for the proposed vacation and aban-
donment:
May 19,1980 - Adopt Resolution to declare the City's intention to
vacate and abandon a portion of the subject alley.
May 29, 1980-Publish in Tustin News the notice of proposed hearing.
June16,1980- Hold Public Hearing and adopt Resolution ordering vacation
(if applicable)
RECOMMENDED ACTION
