SCHUSTER. RESOLUTION NO. 80-42 A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Tustin, California, COMMENDING AND EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO COUNCILMAN RALPH WELSH, JR. BACKGROUND: At the April 15, 1980 City Council meeting, the Council moved that resolutions of commendation be prepared for outgoing Councilpersons Stephen L. Schuster and Ralph Welsh, Jr. RECOMMENDATION: Adoption of Resolutions 80-41 and 80-42 as recommended by the City Council. 1 4 6 ? 8 9 10 14 16 18 19 20 21 'ATTEST: RESOLUTION NO. 80-41 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, COMMENDING AND EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO COUNCILMAN STEPHEN L. SCHUSTER WHEREAS, Stephen L. Schuster has served on t~e Tustin City Council since March 2, 1976 and as Mayor from March 5, 1979 through April 15, 1980; and WHEREAS, Stephen L. Schuster has provided the City and the citizens of Tustin with not only dedicated services on the Council for four years but he has contributed a great deal of time relative to various committees including: The Bicycle Path Committee; Witness to Fitness; Orange County Circulation Studies; Sound Controlled Environment.Committee; Orange County Health Planning Council; as Alternate on Sanitation Districts ~1 and #7; Orange County Vector Control; and Public Agencies Data Systems; and WHEREAS, Stephen L. Schuster has given to the citizens loyal and dedicated service; and NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Tustin, California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE that it is with regret we lose the services of Stephen L. Schuster as City Councilman; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Stephen L. Schuster, affectionately known as "Speed", be commended for his outstanding service to the citizens and sincere appreciation is hereby expressed on behalf of the City of Tustin and the public for this dedicated and exemplary record of public service. PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council, City of Tustin, California, held on the 5th day of May, 1980. WHEREAS, Ralph Welsh, Jr. served two terms as Councilman, being first elected to the Tustin City Council on April llth, 1972, again re-elected on March 2nd, 1976 and from March 14, 1978 until March 5, 1979, served as Mayor; and WHEREAS, Ralph Welsh, Jr. not only served two, four year terms of office equivalent to eight years of dedicated and meaningful service but has contributed generously of his time and talents to many committees, a few of which were: Bicentennial Committee; Comprehensive Community Fire Protection Master Plan; Orange County Health Planning Council; Cultural Arts Facility Committee; League of California Cities (Orange County Division); League of California Cities (Employee Relations Committee); Alternate on both Sanitation District #1 and #7; Representative for Orange County Vector Control; and Alternate on the Santa Ana River Flood Control Protection Agency; and NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Tustin, California, does hereby resolve that the service record of Mayor and Councilman Welsh has been a raost outstanding and productive one and our appreciation is hereby expressed for his dedicated and exemplary record of public service. PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Tustin, California, held on the 5th day of May, 1980. MAYOR ATTEST: CITY CLERK
