The Howards are new owners of this property. The house was built and landscaped while in the county and the previous owner had a forest of trees planted, four trees on the private property side of the sidewalk and two directly across the sidewalk in the parkway. The trees are Indian Laurels, however, no deep watering was ever given the trees, only a small amount and very infrequently, causing the trees to put roots on top of the ground. They have broken the sidewalk and drive- way and the ones on the private property has roots under the foundation of the house. The home owner has already removed the four trees on private property. The neighborhood was notified of the Howards request for the trees to be removed, no objections were received. Only one tree should have been planted in the parkway, the tree nearest to ~orba is almost on top of the water meter and at the other end of the parkway is the driveway. Although the trees are approved parkway trees it appears that there is no way to save them. The roots are to high above grade to regrade and fill over and if we cut them the tree will probably die or blow over. RECOMMENDATIONS: Remove the parkway tree as requested and replace at city expense and replace the two trees w!th.one selected by the Howards from the city approved tree list and repair the concrete work.
