Annexation No. 109 (Sycamore-Walnut-Mitchell)
The annual meeting of the Walnut Park Community Association will be
held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 1980. This association re-
presents the collective views of the greatest number of property
owners and residents within the proposed Sycamore-Walnut-Mitchell
annexation area No. 109.
An invitation has been extended for the Mayor or his designee to
speak at the annual meeting pertaining to the benefits and logicallity
of the annexation to Tustin.
A responsive audience is expected since some members of the Board
of Directors thought that they were already annexed to the city as
a result of LAFCO's action in February, 1978.
RECOM~MENDED ACTION:
It is recommended that the Mayor or his designee accept the invitation
of the Walnut Park Homeowners Association to attend their annual
meeting on May 15, 1980.

RESOLUTION SUPPORTING PROPOSITION 1
The passage of Proposition 1 would greatly aid the continued
development of Columbus Tustin Park and other parks.
Thus, it is reco~ended that the City Council adopt the attached
Resolution in support of Propositiom 1.

RESOLUTION NO. 80-45
RESOLUTION SUPPORTING PROPOSITION 1: .~'
A BOND MEASURE PROVIDING FUNDING FOR ACQUISITION AND
DEVELOPMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION PROGRAMS AND RENEWABLE i
RESOURCES
WHEREAS, parks and recreation programs vastly enhance our urben
environment; and
WHEREAS, leisure and open spaces in both urban and rural areas
a necessity to life, since they have a substantial effect on mental and
physical health, economic productivity and social problems; and
WHEREAS, recreation programs can particularly aid in the amelioration
of problems such as juvenile delinquency and senior citizens in transition; and
WHEREAS, Proposition 1 places before the voters of California a
measure to provide funding for acquisition and development of parks, recreation
programs, conservation of natural resources, and access to popular recreation
areas; and
WHEREAS, enhancement of parks and other natural resources will have
a direct economic benefit to our community and the state as a whole; and more-
over, will benefit the health and well-being of Californians.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the City of
Tustin goes on record in support of Proposition 1 and a copy of this resolution
is sent to the local Chamber of Commerce, each of the area's representatives
in the State Assembly and Senate, the Governor, and to Californians for A
Resourceful Economy.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Tustin, California, held on the 5th day of May, 1980.
