THE CITY OF TUSTIN, HELD IN THE CITY
HALL OF TUSTIN AT 7:O0 MONDAY EVEN-
ING January 21, 1946.
Present were: Councilmen:Park, Rawlings, Charleton, and
Jacobs.
Absent were: Councilman:Kidd
CITY Attorney was present.
By an unanimous decision Councilman Park was chosen to act
as Mayor pro-tem for the meeting.
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor pro-tem Park
and the minutes of the meeting of January 7 were read and approved
by the order of the acting mayor as there were no errors or ommis-
sions registered by any of the Councilmen.
In communications the secretary of the County League of
Cities (Charles E. Griffith) gave notice of their regular monthIy
meeting of the League to be held at the Hacienda Country Club at
La Habra, dinner to be served at 6:45. The notice stated that the
ladies were cordially invited, and it was suggested that each city
invite as its guests, persons who may be directing or coordinating
youth activities in the city. The speaker for the meeting he
stated, would be Dr. W. Melvin Strong coordinator of youth activit-
ies throughout the Huntington Beach district. In addition to the
entertainment to be furnished by the Youth Orchestra of La Habra,
Chas. A. Pearson was to discuss action taken at the recent meeting
of the State League.
A letter from the State Divisions of Highways dated January
7, stated that as soon as possible they would investigate the con-
ditions at Main Street and 101 Highway.
Moved by Councilman Jacobs, that the liability policy
carried by Hugh J. Staton in American Casualty Company to be appro-
ved as sufficient in connection with his application for a taxicab
license. The second to the motion was by councilman Charleton.
Motion carried.
The City Attorney and Mr. Harbough, of the Health department,
went over the matter of revising the City's ordinance on trailor
camps so as to bring it up to what the Health department would re-
quire for them at this time. Mr. Bradley stated that he would have
for the next meeting, what he thought would be our present ordin-
ance revamped with amendments as proposed by Mr. Hatbough, giving
the City, an ordinance that would cover all of the requirements in
conducting trailor camps. Councilman Charleton moved that the ins-
pectors, building, electrical and plumbings inspect all trailor camps
and report any violations. Councilman Jacobs seconded the motion.
Motion carried.
Rawlings moved that the pay of George S. Spicer be raised
from $125 a month to $135 and to be retroacted to January 1, also r
that O. C. Phillips pay be raised to $150 and to be made retroacted
to January 1. Councilman Charleton seconded the motion. Motion
carried.
Councilman Charleton moved that the City Clerk write a let-
ter to the Board of Supervisors and to the Grand Jury to the effect
that the City Council approves the suggestion of the Grand Jury to
use the facilities of the County Pound for our pound necessities.
Councilman Rawlings seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Councilman Jacobs moved that the following bills be
paid: Bureau of Internal of Revenue $197.80
Dues of Orange County League 12.50.
Councilman Charleton seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Councilman Jacobs moved that the meeting be adjourned.
Councilman Charleton Seconded the motion. Motion carried.
