HomeMy WebLinkAboutPH 1 ZONE CHANGE 80-1 03-03-80DATE: TO: FROH: SUBJECT: Applicant: Location: March 3, 1980 3-3-80 Inter-Corn Honorable Mayor and City Council Members Community Development Department Zone Change 80-1 Initiated by the Planning Agency 14901 Newport Avenue BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION The subject 6.031 acre parcel is currently zoned M-1 (Industrial) and the pro- posal is fo rezone the property fo the Planned Unit Development District (PD) (Residential). The Tusfin Area General Plan designates the parcel for Residential- Multiple-family which would bring the zoning into conformance with the Genral Plan. Since fha property is now available for acquisition and requests have been re- ceivec concerning the development of the property, if is imperative fhaf the re~ zoning be accomplished irrlmediafely. The location of the developed R-3 properties fo the north and east along with the need for new additional housing in the city justifies the need for a change of zone fo PD. Because of the restrictiveness o¢ the PD District, any development is subject to a conditional use permit which has fo be reviewed and approved by the Planning Agency. On February 19, 1980 the Planning Agency recommended approval of Zone Change 80-1 by the adoption of Resolution No. 1880.
