THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUSTIN, HELD IN THE CITY HALL OF
TUSTIN MONDAY EVENING Oct. 1st. 1945
PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: KIDD,PARK.JACOBS, CHARLETON, RAWLINGS
ABSENT WERE: COUNCILMEE: NONE
ATTORNEY GEO. E. BRADLEY WAS PRESENT.
Mayor Kidd called the the meeting to order and
asked the Clerk to read the minutes of the last meeting
of Sept.17th. They were were adopped on the motion of Cou-
ncilman Charleton and seconed by Councilman Jacobs. The
motion carried.
In the communications there was a letter to
the council by Arthur witten complaining about the resur-
facing job on Pacific Street as there was a low place in
front of his house where water stood. Street Commissioner
Rawlings told the Council that He would investigate the
complaint. There was a letter from the Justice Department
of California informing the Council of the progress that
was being made withe the Mutual Ade Plan for Cities of the
State. A letter from the Alcholic Beverage Depertment of the
State Board of Equalization informing the council that Ed-
Win Cox had made application for an Off Sale License for
the sale of Wine and Beer and requested that any objection
to the License being granted Mr. Cox be directed to the Sac-
ramonto office of the State Board of Equilaztion. There was
a lengthy discussion on the subject and finished with a split
desission, but in the final the Board went on record against
the granting of the License on the grounds that there was
in the vacinity two places where Wine and Beer was being
sold and that it was too close to the School. Councilman
Charleton moved that that the Clerk be instructed to notify
the State Board of the action of the Council based on the
above objection and Councilman Rawlings seconed the motion.
The motion carried.
Mrs. James Preble and Her Committii of P.T Association
was before the Board requesting that a Crossing Officer be
installed at B Street Crossing on First Street Mrs Preble as
spokeman for the Group stated that it about the unamious decis-
sion of their Organization that it was necessary to have the
Officer for the protection of the Children of the Children at
the crossing. After a discussion of the matter it was decided to
take the matter up with the School Board and have a joint meet-
ing was arranged to-be had on the evening of Oct. 9th.
O.C.Phillips a discharged Vetern who worked for the
City when he went in the U.S.Service reported that he was ex-
pecting his Job and was ready to go to work on the morning of
the 8th of the month. He was re-instated and it was decided to
keep Mr. Spicer on the job for a time in cleaning up odd jobs.
Bills were presented and Orded Paid on the Motion of
Councilman Jacobs and seconed by Councilman Park. Motion Carried.
Councilman Rawlings Moved the meeting adjourn
Councilman Park 2ned the Motion. Motion Carried.
