HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1945 07 02 MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, HELD IN THE CITY HALL OF TUSTIN ON MONDAY EVENING JULY 2, 1945 AT 7 P.M. PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: KIDD, RAWLINGS, CHARLETON JACOBS AND PARK ABSENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: NONE City Atorney George E. Bradley was present.. Mayor Kidd called the meeting to order and proceeded with the business to come before the meeting. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved on the motion of Councilman Park and seconded by Councilman Jaoobs. Motion was carried. In the communications the State Highway sent in the agreement on the work to be done on streets of major im- portance and State Highways within the city. Resolution # 162 Upon the motion of Councilman Park, duely was adopted. seconded and upon a roll call, all voting favorably, the resolution was adopted. The resolution calls for approval and execution of the 1/4 cent gas tax for the state highways for the 1945-47 biannuam. The matter of establishing a telephone at some place of business so that some-one on duty can take fire calls day or nignt was up for discussion. No decission was arrived at, but the matter, it was agreed by all, must have attention. The Mayor announced that the Council is now meeting as a Board of Equilization and will continue from day to day until any objections are heard and all returns ratified. No objections were registered at the meeting. Word was received that a party from Orange would do some spraying on the weeds to finish up the matter of weed cleaning for the season. The Council instructed the Street Superintendent to get the work done. Councilman Park moved the following bills be paid. The motion was seconded by Councilman Charleton and carried. Rent $ 30.00 Chas. Morris 88.08 Fire Ext.Co. 10.78 Utilities 31.22 Tustin Water Works 120.00 Jas. Farrage 6.00 Fire Dept. 66.90 J.L. McBride " $100. 00 Receipts for the month of June were $I441.84 as follows: B.L. $6.00. Fines $670.00 State Veh. $765.79. Current taxes and penalties $8.25.
