HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1945 06 18 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, HELD IN THE CITY HALL IN TUSTIN, June 18, 1945 at 7 O' CLOCK P .M. PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: KIDD, PARK, JACOBS, RAWLINGS ABSENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: Attorney Geo. E. Bradley was absent. Consulting Engineer, J. L. McBride was present at the meeting. Mayor Kidd called the meeting to order and proceeded with the regular affairs to come before the meeting, by calling for the minutes of the last meeting to be read by the Clerk. They were approved on the motion of Councilman Rawlings, seconded by Councilman Park, carried. Resolution #160 On the motion of Councilman Park, duely seconded was adopted. and carried, Resolution No. 160 was adopted. This resolution was the appointment of Arthur M. Charleton to the Council. to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Hubert R. Howell, who moved out of the City. Roll Call--- Councilman Kidd voted Aye, Councilman Rawlings voted Aye, Councilman Park voted Aye, and Councilman Jacobs voted Aye. Resolution #161 On the motion of Councilman Park which was was Adopted duely seconded and carried, Resolution #161 was adopted. This resolution was for the expenditure of the 1/4 cent gas tax. Roll call on the vote was, --- Councilman Kidd voted Aye, Councilman Jacobs voted Aye, Councilman Park voted Aye, Councilman Rawlings voted Aye, and the new Councilman, Councilman Charleton voted Aye. No votes to the contrary. After a full explanation by the Consulting Engineer J. L. McBride, on the work to be done on the streets, Councilman Rawlings moved and it was duly seconded and carried, that plans and specifications for the improvement of "B" Street, from First Street to Main Street, and Pacific, from First Street to Main Street be approved and the City Clerk be authorized to submit the same to the Department of Public Works for approval. The Village Blacksmith, Johansen and his wife were before the Council with complaints on conditions that were annoying about their home on the highway. Mr. Jacobsen complained about the trucks that were left With the motor running while the drivers were away, also that trucks were often parked in the driveway and other things he felt should be looked into. Mrs. Johansen sighted the unsanitary conditions of the way garbage was handled at the restaurant on the North of them, and her neighbors chickens on the South. The Johansens were promised that an investigation would be made in the matter. Councilman Jacobs moved that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was.seconded by Councilman Charleton , and carried.
