HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1945 05 21 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, HELD IN THE CITY HALL OF TUSTIN, MONDAY EVENING AT 7 O'CLOCK, MAY 21st. 1945. PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: KIDD, PARK, JACOBS AND RAWLINGS. ABSENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: HOWELL City Attorney George E. Bradley was present. Mayor Kidd called the meeting to order and asked for the reading of the minutes of the last meeting. They were adopted as read. In the communications, a letter from the Secretary of Orange County League of Cities, Ray Overaker, informing the Council of a joint meeting with the Los Angeles County League, to be held in the Memorial Hall at Huntington Beach, with a dinner To be served at 7O'clock and the League of California Cities Representative to Washington D.C., Lawrence E. Olson, to be the principal speaker. A letter from the County Clerk's office ad- ising that Resolution of the City of Tustin #157 had been placed before the Board of County Supervisors and that they had taken no action on its adoption, but had it under advisement. Councilman Rawlings moved that, since according to the auditor's report, certain expenditures have been made in the past from the General Funds, so that the special gas tax street improvement funds, has on hand $656.88 more than according to the books of the state highwav department, that the sum of $656.88 be taken from the special gas tax improvement funds and deposited in the general funds. The second to the motion was made by Councilman Park. Motion carried. Resolution #159 was adopted on the motion of Councilman Rawlings and seconded by Councilman Jacobs. This Resolution is for the expenditure of the 1/4 cent gas tax monies on streets of major importance within the city. The motion carried as the roll call was favorable, none voting to the contrary. Councilman Park moved that the city procure a suitable fire extinguisher for the use of the Chief of Police to be carried in his car. Councilman Rawlings seconded the motion, and the motion carried. Councilman Rawlings moved the meeting adjourn. Councilman Park furnished the second to the motion, and the motion was carried. Chas E. Morris City Clerk Jerome C. Kidd Mayor
