HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1945 03 0528 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, HELD IN THE CITY HALL OF TUSTIN, MONDAY EVENING AT 7 O'CLOCK MARCH 5th, 1945 PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: KIDD, RAWLINGS, PARK, JACOBS AND HOWELL ABSENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: NONE Attorney George E. Bradley was present. 3 Mayor Kidd was on hand after an absence from the Council for the last two meetings on account of illness. The minutes of the last meeting were adopted on the motion of Councilman Park and seconded by Councilman Rawlings. The motion carried. The first order of business to come before the council was the work of resurfacing Pacific Street. The Sulley Miller Construction Company had their representative,Robert Noble, present to figure on the Street work and George Broomell was also present representing the property owners, in carrying out their agreement whereby the property owners and the city resurface South Pacific St. from curb to curb on a 50/50 basis Council also considered North Pacific Street with representative Noble, and it was agreed that as soon as the City Engineer, J. L. McBride, could work out the proper forms and get the State's o.k., that the work could begin. The need for street repair was gone into, and Councilman Rawlings moved that if possible, the City hire someone to fill up the big holes in the streets. Councilman Park seconded the motion and the motion was carried. Councilman Park moved the bills presented be paid. They were as follows: Fire Dept. $54.00 Radio Tel. Equip. 3.14 J. W. Brown 36.00 J.S. Redmond 5.00 Chas. E. Morris 17.03 Utilities 27.95 Carson & Golding 24.44 On the order of Mayor Kidd the meeting was adjourned untiI 5:45 Tuesday, March 6th, P.M. So that the Councilmen could go over the street repair work to be done. TUESDAY NIGHT MARCH 6th. The meeting was called to order at 6:15 P.M. All members were present. City Engineer J. L. McBride and Robert Noble of the Sulley Miller Construction Company were present. A full discussion of the pavement job was had. All preparations were made to have the papers o.k.'d by the Street Highway Commission. The meeting was adjourned on the motion of Councilman Rawlings and seconded by Councilman Howell. Chas E.
