HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1945 02 05 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, HELD IN THE CITY HALL OF TUSTIN, MONDAY EVENING AT 7 O'CLOCK FEB. 5th, 1945 PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: PARK, JACOBS, HOWELL AND RAWLINGS ABSENT WERE: COUNCILMAN: KIDD City Attorney George E. Bradley was present. In the absence of the Mayor, Jerome C. Kidd, who was in the hospital undergoing an operation, Councilman Park was chosen to act as Mayor Protem for the meeting, on the motion of Councilman Rawlings and seconded by Councilman Howell. Mayor Pro-tem Park called for the minutes of the last regular meeting to be read, and they were adopted on the motion of Councilman Jacobs and seconded by Councilman Howell. There were no communications of any importance. The matter of Building license paid by the late E. R. Hale for the next six months in advance was brought up and Councilman Rawlings moved that the six dollars paid for the License be refunded. Councilman Jacobs seconded the motion, and the motion was carried. Ex Councilman George Broomell was before the Council with a proposition to the City that if it would resurface South Pacific, that the property owners would Pay one-half of the cost so as to have a coverage for the street from curb to curb. The length of the street is approximately 660 feet. There was no action taken in the matter, but it is to come up again in a definite form. It was favored by the Board. John L. Partin, who is associated with Joseph E. Bonadiman, Civil Engineers of Los Angeles, was a caller before the Council, hearing that Tustin might be in line for Engineering work in its prewar program. Willlam Wells and Committee was before the Council asking about a City License to conduct Saturday Night dances in the K of P. Hall. They were informed that, as the dances were being held under the Jurisdiction of the lodge, they would require no license, but they were asked to police the dance themselves and to work in conjunctionswith the city police. Councilman Howell moved to pay bills. Councilman Jacobs seconded the motion and the motion was carried. Councilman Rawlings moved the adjournment of the meeting and Councilman Howell seconded the motion. The motion carried. Chas E. Morris City Clerk Jerome C. Kidd Mayor
