HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1944 09 15 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, HELD IN THE CITY HALL OF TUSTIN MONDAY EVENING AT 8 O'CLOCK SEPT, 18TH 1944. PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: KIDD, RAWLINGS, FORNEY AND HOWELL PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: GATES ATTORNEY GEO. E. BRADLEY WAS PRESENT. Mayor Kidd called the meeting to order and the min- uted of the last meeting were read and approved. Communications were next in order,and a letter from Mrs. Marshell Burke asking the council to have one of its members to attend a meeting that will take place in the City Hall The evening of Oct. 9th She was calling to help the Tillers Lodge both in strengthing the Youngsters Organaziation by the association of a group of Adults interests, and Financelly by asking donations from Individual and from the various Organaziations that is interested to see that the Youngsters make a go of the undertaking. Councilman Howell was asked to represent the Council at the meeting, The matter of the League of Cities meeting at the confrence to be held in Los Angeles on Friday the13th was again talked and Attorney Bradley thought it would be a good Idea to attend and the Attorney and the City clerk decided to attend. Mr. Hillman of the Mountain View Neighbor hood come before the Council to inquire about Building restriction as to the reg- ulation of the Trailer Camp on their Street and stated that the People of that neighborhood was fearful that if the place expanded that it would be very unsightly and damageing to the property values of the Street. The matter was related to the Chief of Police for to be inves- igated. On the motion of Councilman Hawlings and seconed by Councilman Howell The Street Department was instructed to recapped a couple of the Trucks Tires and some repair work done to the Truck Bed. The Motion Carried. Forney Resigns Councilman Forney anouneed that he was resigning his Councilship as he was moveing to Garden Grove and that his writen res- ignaziation would be mailed in for the Files, and acted on the next meeting. There was feelings of regret in Loosing Lyle From the Council. The matter of getting Pacific Street sesignated as a Street of major importance so that some of the 1/4 cent gas Money on hand can go for repairs is to be investigated by Attorney Bradley. Councilman Rawlings moved that the Cancilation of the Bond of The Treasurer Walter Pollard be made on the date the Treasurers post was taken over by the newly appointed Treasurer Idus H.Harper. Councilman Howell seconed the motion. Motlon Carried. Councilman Rawlings moved that the following bills be paid, Tustin News 26.50 Orange County 23.05 Utilities 27.65 Chas.Morrls 12.66 and C.A. Vance 25.00 Councilman Howell seconed the motion. The Motion Carried, Councilman Howell, moved that the meeting adjourn Councilman Rawlings seconed the motion. Motion Carried, Chas. E.
