MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA MONDAY EVE-
NING JULY 17th 1944 at 8 O'Clock
Present Were:Councilmen: Kidd, Rawlings, Howell and Forney
Absent Were: Councilmen: Gates.
City Attorney Geo. E. Bradley was present, and
Regularly moved and seconed the Minutes of meeting July 3, 1944
and approved.
The practice of the Art of Palmistry was before the Board to
ask for a more liberal rate for the License. He stated that He
felt that they had established the fact that their place of
buslness was conducted in an orderly manner and that if the rate
was more reasonable that they would like to stay here indefini-
tely. The members of the Board agreed with Mr. Miller that the
rate seemed to be excessive but it would be necessary to change
the wording of the Ordinance before a change of rate could be
made. The members of the Board promised Mr. Miller that they would
take the matter under advisement for the settling at the next meet-
ing Aug. 7th, and in the meantime an investigation would be made
to know whether or not the people of the community wanted this
business permanently established in Tustin. Counilman Forney Moved
that the matter be handled in this way and the second was by Counc.
ilman Howell. Motion Carried.
Councilman Rawlings Reported that he had investigated the
conditions in front of Mr. Goldings Place on West Main Street that
had been reported the last meeting and recomended that the City
furnish the Pipe to be placed in the Ditch and that Mr. Golding
to stand the rest of the expense that it would take to Correct the
hazard He made this as a motion which was seconed by Councilman
Howell. Motion Carried.
Councilman Rawlings moved that the Assessors Assessments
be approved and the equilizatlon period be closed. Councilman
Howell seconded the motion. Motion Carried
Councillman Howell moved that the following Bills be paid and
Councilman Forney seconed the Motion Motion Carried.
