THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUSTIN, HELD IN THE CITY HALL OF
TUSTIN, MONDAY EVENING MAY 1ST 1944.
PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: Kidd, Rawlings, Forney,and Howell
ABSENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: Gates
GEO.E. BRADLEY WAS PRESENT. (CITY ATTORNEY)
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor Jerome
O. Kidd,and the minutes of the last meeting of April 18th
were read and aproved.
Mayor Signs
Gasoline Tax The State Highway Department submitted a memmorandum
Agreement agreement for the expenditure of the 1/4 cent gasoline tax for
streets of major Importance within the City,and on the motion
of Councilman Forney and seconed by Councilman Howell the Coun-
cil adopted the agreement and autherised the Mayor to sign the
same representing the City. Motion Carried.
City Treasurer,
Walter J Pollard Treasurer Walter J. Pollard was before the Board to ann-
Resigns ounce that he wished to resign his position of Treasurer for
the City as his many duties he felt was all that he could welldo
in careing for his own affairs. The Treasurer offered to co Op
erate withe the Board in getting someone in his stead on account
of the extra Audit that would be required in the change in pers-
onel. He requested however 'that the date of his release be not later
than June 30th. The members cf the Board expressed thair regrets
in loosing Walter from the force and told him of their appreciation
of his long service,and they promised to arrange that he might be
relieved on the time limit.
Clerk and Bonds for the City Clerk and Treasurer were presented
Treasurers to the Board for approval and on the motion of Councilman
Bond AP- Forney and it was seconed by Councilman Rawlings they were
approved. Motion carried.
There was no deffinate action taken in the matter of
The Santa Ana Independant as to wheather are not it should
be considered a News Paper and subjected to a 10.00 per year
License Fee orto be classed as advertiseing matter being cir-
culated and subjected to a Five Dollar a day Fee for such. Af-
ter considerable discussion it was decided to Table it for
further investigation.
There was no protests against the posting of property
that must be cleaned of Weeds, and according to the date on the
the poster this date was set as the limit of time for protests
Councilman Rawlings moved that the property owners be notified
of the needs of cleaning off the weeds as help to do such work
was very hard for the City to get Councilman made the second to
the motion which Carried.

On the motion of Councilman Forney and seconed by Councilman
Howell the Bills were paid Motion Carrled.
Councilman Rawllngs moved that meening adjourn the second
to the motion was by Councilman Gates Motion Carrled.
