HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1944 02 07 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SEMI MONTHLY MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TUSTIN, HELD IN THE CITY HALL OF TUSTIN MONDAY EVENING AT 7:00 FEB. 7TH, 1944. PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: KIDD, RAWLINGS, AND GATES. ABSENT WERE: COUNCILMEN FORNEY AND BROOMELL ATTORNEY GEO.E. BRADLEY WAS PRESENT. The meeting was called to order by the Mayor Jerome C.Kidd, who called for the Minutes of the last meeting to be read,and after minor changes they were adopted, on the motion of Councilman Gates and seconed by Councilman Rawlings. The Motion Carried. In the communications there was an invitation for our Fire Chief E.L.Kiser to be present at the State Chief's Con- vention in Los Angeles on Feb 18, and on the motion of Council- man Rawlings and seconed by Councilman Gates, the Council decided to have Chief Kiser attend if possible, and the City to pay his necessary expenses. Motion Carried. There being no further communications of import- ance they were orded filed. Chief of Police Claborn informed the Council of The Peace Officers meeting and Dinner to be held at the Legened Hall onTuesday evening the 10th of the month and invited as many of the members of the Council as could to go as his guest. Resolution No 142 Resolution No.142 pertaining to the coming Mun- was adopted. icipal Election of April 11th, and selecting officers for the same, setting the amount to be paid the Election Officers, as well as the consolidating the Voting Precincts of the City was adopted by the motion of Councilman Rawlings and seconed by Councilman Gates. Street Superintendent Claborn reported the neede of around forty tons of plant material known as 200-300 for the completion of the Street repair now going on in the City, and on the motion of Councilman Gates and seconed by Councilman Rawlings he was instructed to order what ever was needed to com- plete the Job. Motion Carried. Street Superintendent Claborn reported the request of Mr. Van Horn for the changing the approach to his filling station at First and Mountain View Streets at his own expense. Councilman Gates moved that the request be granted to Mr. Van Horn when the condition outlined above are complied with and the work to be done under the supervision of Street Superin- tendent Claborn, the motion was seconed by Councilman Rawlings. Motion Carried. All business coming before the Board having been attended too the following bills were presented and on the motion of Conc- elman Gated and seconed by Councilman Rawlings they were orded paid. motion carried.
