MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SEMI MONTHLY
MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TUSTIN, HELD IN THE CITY HALL
OF TUSTIN, MONDAY EVENING AT 7 0'Clock
JANUARY 3rd, 1944.
PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: Kidd, Rawlings, Forney and
Broomell.
ABSENT WERE. COUNCILMEN: Gates.
CITY ATTORNEY GEO.E.BRADLEY WAS PRESENT.
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor Jerome
C. Kldd and the minutes of the previous meeting were read and
approved.
Communication were called for and a letter the Sec-
retary of the Tustin Fire Dept. was read. The letter stated
that the Department recomended the appointment of Ed Kiser for
the Fire Chief for the Year of 1944 and Jerome O. Kidd the As-
sistent Chief, and on the motion of Councilman Forney Made sec-
oned by Councilman Rawlings the Appointments were made. the
Motion Carried.
Next in the order of Business The renewal of the
fire Insurance on the Fire Hall and Fire Hose in the Building
was to be taken care of. W.S.Leinberger who had the Insurance
for the last three years was before the Board with a bid of
$5760 or a rate of $1.28 for the Renewal, and the Orange County
Mutual Fire Insurance placed their bid of $24.30 figured at the
rate of .60 less a discount of 10 Per cent The Council after
fully considering the bids ask the Clerk to Have the Orange Co.
Mutual Company to veryfy their Bid and if correct to place the
insurance with them and if not to place it with Mr. Leinberger.
the act of the Council was taken on the motion of Councilman
Rawlings and seconed by Councilman Forney. The Motion Carried. "
Chief of Police Claborn reported that according to
rumors there was apt to be a cut in Gasoline for the City
Truck and if so the amount might not be enough to carry out
the present scedule which is the least amount that we can
get along with. The Council ask Claborn to go to the Rationing
board and explain the Circumstances if any cut was made.
The Bills were Called for and the following presented
and on the motion of Councilman Broomell and seconed by Council-
man Rawlings orded paid Motion Carried.
