HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1943 10 04 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SEMI MONTHLY MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN HELD IN THE CITY HALL OF TUSTIN AT 7 O'CLOCK P.M. OCT. 4TH 1943. PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: KIDD,RAWLINGS, AND FORNEY ABSENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: GATES AND BROOMELL ATTORNEY GEO. BRADLEY WAS PRESENT. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kidd who called for the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting of september Both which were approved when read. In the communications the California Blueprint and Map Company of Los Angeles sent in a complimentary copy of the Renie Atlas of Orange County. The Booklet arroused interest among the menbets of the Council and on the motion of Councilman Forney and seconed by Councilman Rawlings the Clerk was instructed to ask for a price for a half dozen copies to be purchased by the City. Motion Carried. Councilman Forhey moved that the cement block at the door of the City hall be raised to prevent the winter rains from coming in on the floor, Councilman Rawlings seconed the motion. Motion Carried. Attorney Bradley reported that he had a proposation for the settlement of the claim of the Citys against the Consu- mers Transfer Company which is being handled by the National Causalty Company,and that the offer was to pay the full damage to date of $323.79,and he recomended that the Council should accept the offer. Councilmean Rawlings moved that the offer of settlement be accepted and that the Mayor and the Clerk autherized to sign a release on the claim for the City Counci- lman Forney seconed the motion. Motion carried. Chief Claborn ask for a vacation to start on the morning of the 5th ending on the morning of the16th of the month which was granted by the motion of Councilman Forney and seconed by Councilman Rawlings. Motion Carried. On the motion of Councilman Rawlings and seconed by Councilman Forney the Lumber bill up to $25.00 for back stop for the Tustin Horseshoe Club was orded paid upon the ground that the facitilies of the Club are open to all residents of the City and the recreation derived by citizens therefrom is of civic benefit. motion carried. On the motion of Councilman Forney and seconed by Councilman Rawlings the following Bills were orded paid.
