HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1943 04 19418 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SEMI MONTHLY MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TUSTIN HELD IN THE CITY HALL OF TUSTIN AT 7 O,CLOCK MONDAY EV- ENING APRIL 19th 1943. Present Were; Councilman; Kidd, Rawlings, Forney,Gates,and Broomell Attorney Bradley was Present. Absent Were: None. Reading of the minutes of the previous meeting of April 5th was called for by Mayor Kidd and they were approved, and also the minutes of the meeting of Mar.15th were reread and were also Approved. Communic- In a communication from J.A.Woolley City Engineer of Tustin, ations. He resigns, and requested that it take effect as of April, 15th. Mr. Woolleys recognicatlon was accepted on the motion of Coun- cilman Broomell and seconed by Councilman Rawlings, and the Clerk was instructed to request that he turn over to the City Attorney George Bradley any documents and papers that belongs to the City. The Motion Carried. A letter from Rep. Sam Collins of the 75th District and Assem- bleman Clyde Watson assureing the Council that they would go all out for A.B.224 was read ,and all Communications were orded Filed. Request to Mrs. Arthur Witten having made a verbal application to the City Remove Clerk for the privledge to remove two Old Walnut Tress in the Trees Curb of her lot at the corner of 3rd.and Pacific Streets was put befor the Council by the Clerk and the request was granted on the motion of Councilman Rawlings and seconed by Councilman Broomell. Motion Carried. The Case was contioned with trial date set for May 18th and that he had hopes Andrade Case.of effecting a settlement of the case with out going to trial and for a sum that would not excede the amount of the cost of taking witnesses and going to San Francisco to defend it. The Councilmen were of the opinion that perhaps that this would be the best way to get the matter settled and on the motion of Cou- ncilman Broomell and senconed by Councilman Forney the Attorney was empowered to make a compromise settlement up to the amount of $250.00 rather than having to go to defend the case. Motion carried. It was movedCouncilman Broomell and seconed by Councilman Forney that contract Dated Apr.14th 1943 between Jack V. Claborn and the City of Tustin relative to the Title of The De Soto Auto- mobile be entered into by the City and the Mayor Autherized to execute Agreement on behalf of the City. Motion Carried. Broomell Councilman Broomell was assigned the Commissioner of Health Health and and Sanitation for the City.
