HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1943 03 15 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TUSTIN HELD IN THE CITY HALL OF TUSTIN, MARCH 15th AT 7 OCLOCK P.M. 1943 · PRESENT WERE: Councilmen, Kidd, Cawthon, Gates, Rawlings & Forney. City Attorney Bradley also present. ABSENT: None. Communications: A letter from California Planning Commissoners asking about our Planning Commisson. The Clerk was instructed to give them the information. Street Supt. Claborn reported the possiblity of Street Material securing l040 Gallons of Oil for mix with D.G. for street repair, he ask for permission to secure Equipment, Material, and Labor to repair Streets This was granted by Motion by Councilman Rawlings seconded by Councilman Forney. Motion carried. Removal of Trees Mrs May Borum appeared before the Board asking the removal of the large trees in the curb in front of her house. The Street Supt. Claborn reported the cost would be around $20.O0 for the job. On the motion of Councilman Rawlings seconded by Councilman Forney the Street Supt. was instructed to look into the matter and take care of it. Motion carried. Tree trunks to be re-moved On the Motion of Councilman Cawthon seconded by Councilman Gates the Street Supt was instructed to secure bids on the removing of the tree trunks and logs off the streets. Motion carried. Trees at Advent Councilman Forney asked for the Advent Church Church to be The permission to remove the Trees on the West Replaced side of the Church to be replaced by more suitable variety, and that the City remove the three trees on Main Street in front of the Church. He made this as a Motion which was seconded by Councilman Rawlings. Motion carried. Councilman Cawthon Resigns Councilman Cawthon having moved out of Tustin,. handed in his resignation as Councilman which was accepted after all had expressed their regrets in looseing him from the Council. Councilman Forney moved the acceptance and it was seconded by Councilman Rawlings. Motion carried. Geo. A.Broomell Appointed to The name of George A. Broomall was purposed as The Council a Councilman to fill the vacency made by Cawthon resignation and was accepted unanimously by the adoption of Ressolutibn #134. Councilman Gates moved the adoption of the Resolution which was seconded by Councilman Rawlings. Roll Call Councilmen Kidd, Gates, Rawlings and Forney ayes. none to the contrary. Motion Carried. The following Bills were submitted andorded paid on the motion of Councilmen Gates and seconed by Councilman Forney Harold Carson S.S. 21.61 Fire Dept 11.00 Roy O. Davis 10.44 Chas. E.
