HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1943 01 18411 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN HELD IN THE CITY HALL OF TUSTIN AT 7 O'CLOCK MONDAY EVENING JAN. 18, 1943 Present were; Councilman Kidd, Rawlings, Forney,Cawthon and Gates. Absent None Attorney Geo. Bradley was present. Minutes of the previous meeting of Jan.4, was read and ap- proved. E.L.Kiser Communications: Aletter from the Secretary Of the Tustin Appointed Fire Department recomending the Appointment of E.L.Kiser as the Fire Chief Fire Chief for the Coming year and Jerome C.Kidd as assistant Fire And Chief was read to the Council. Councilman Rawlings Moved that the Jerome appointments be made and it was seconed by Councilman Forney. Kidd, Asst. The motion carried. Fire Chief Aletter from the County Tax Collector was also read to the Council asking the permission of the Council to sell the 11.43 ft of lots 56and 8 Block E Bundys Add. in the City of Tustin the City to receive above the 8.90 Taxes on the property that is delinquent a Prorate of the Price that it brings above the Taxes and Cost of Sale. Councilman Rawlings Moved that Mr. Mosley the County Tax Col- lector be notified that he was autherised to go on with the sale, and whatever he did would be 0.K.by the Council this was seconed by Councilman Cawthon. Motion Carried. Resolution Resolution #131 setting fourth an error in the assessing #131 of the property of B.J,Crawford in Block C.Tustin city and the Adopted correcting of the same was addopted by the motion of Councilman Rawlings moving that Chas. E.Morris Tax collector be autherised to make the correction and it was seconed by Councilman Forney. Roll Call Kidd,Rawlings,Gates, Forney and Cawthon all voting aye,and none to the contrary. motion Carried. Resolution Resolution #132 was adopted by the motion of Councilman #132 Cawthon and seconed by Councilman Gates. This resolution covered Adopted the deduction of the Victory Tax from the Salaries of the Employs of the City. Roll Call Councilman Kidd, Rawlings, Gates,Forney, and Cawthon all Voting Aye and none to the Contrary .Motiom carried. Garbage The contract between Dr.C.E.Price and the City whereby Contract Dr. Prlce is to receive the Garbage from the City for one year and Ratified. pay $50.00 for the same was ratified and the Mayor and City Clerk was given the power to execute the Contract for the City was made by the Motion of Councilman Gates and seconed by Councilman Rawlings Motion carried. McBride J.L.MoBrlde Engineer for the Outfall Sewer for Santa Ana talked and the Cities in the Northan part of the County had been asked to on the pay us a visit and was present and answered many questions on the Sewerage subject of sewerage and the desposal through the out fall sewerage subject. system. Much was learned from Mr.McBride and there seemed to be no doubt in His mind that Tustin could be permitted to join in the Out- Fall system when when such materials were available, and promised that full co-operation would be given from his office should a re- quest for admission be asked by Tustin. A Sanatary district was recomended as being the best plan for Sewerage for Tustin. All the Member of the Board expressed their appreciaton of Mr.McBride having come to enlighten them in the matter.
