MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TUSTIN HELD IN THE CITY. HALL OF THE CITY
TUSTIN SEPTEMBER 8,1942 .AT 8 O'CLOCK P. M.
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: KIDD,CAWTHON, RAWLINGS,AND FORNEY
COUNCILMAN ABSENT: NONE
CITY ATTORNEY GEO. E. BRADLEY WAS PRESENT.-
THE MINUTES OF THE LAST REGULAR MEETING OF AUGEST 17TH
WERE READ AND APPROVED.
INSURANCE The first. business to have attention of the Council was
CHECKED insurance, and Mr. Carmichel of the Orange County Auto Club
gave a comprehensive report on the insurance that the City
was carrying with his company.
REMOVE Mr. Brown of Santa Ana talked over with the Council
DEAD the matter of removing some of the trees in the City that
TREES has died or become a hazard, as Mr. Brown had not made a
full survey of what has to be done. It was decided to have
a report and a bid put before the Council soon for their
concideration in making a general clean up of such trees.
MEMBERS THE FOLLOWING NAMES TO BE APPOINTED TO SERVE AS A DEFENSE
FOR COUNCIL FOR TUSTIN AND COMMUNITY WERE CONFIRMED BY A MOTION
DEFENSE OF COUNCILMAN FORNEY AND A SECOND BY COUNCILMAN ROWLINGS;
COUNCIL Mrs Enid Wilson, Mrs. Mary Howell, Mr. George Hale, Dr. Weston,
NAMED and from the Council Mayor Kidd, Fire Chief Ed Kiser, Police
Chief Claborn, AND CITY ATTORNEY GEO. E. BRADLEY. MOTION CARRIED.
CLYDE F. The appointment of Clyde F.Gates to membership on the Council
GATES filling the vacency left by the resignation of G.O. Bixler was
ELECTED made by the Council adopting Resolution #127 Councilman Forney
TO THE moved that the resolution be adopted this was seconed by Cou-

Ordinance Ordinance #60 Fixing the Tax rate for the ensueing year was
# 60 adopted by motion of Council Cawthon and second by Councilman
Adopted Rowlings Roll call resulted as follows: Councilman Kidd Aye,
Rowlings Aye, Forney Aye and Cawthon Aye None to the Coutrary,
Motion Carried:
Ordinance # 61 Fixing time and place for the Council Meeting
Ordinance was adopted by Motion of Councilman Cawthon and seconed by Cou-

The application of R.McCarthy for the School Crossing job
was accepted and the rate of pay was put at $40.00 per month
by the motion of Councilman Cawthon and seconed by Councilman
Forney. Motion Carried
Street The pay for W.H.Landis was raised from $120.00 per month to
Department $125.00 per month by motion of Councilman Forney and seconed

month on the motion of Councilman Rawlings and seconed by
