HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1942 08 17 AUGUST 17,1942 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN HELD IN THE CITY HALL IN THE CITY OF TUSTIN CALIFORNIA AUGUST 17,1942 PRESENT WERE COUNCILMEN: Kidd, Rawlings, Cawthon and Forney. ABSENT WERE COUNCILMAN: Bixler. The minutes of the last regular meeting of Augest 3rd. were read and approved. COMMUNICATIONS: The Weber Baking Co. made a request for to be rebated for a business license for one of their Trucks that was not used after Dec 31 of last year. Councilman Rowlings mo- ved that the rebate be granted the motion was seconed by Coun- cilman Forney Motion Carried Phillips The application of O.C.Phillips to fill the vacency left by B.F. is hired Handley in the Street Department at the same rate of pay was in Street- passed favorably on by a motion of Councilman Forney and seconed dept. by Councilman Rowlings. Motion Carried. Councilman- The resignation of G.O.Bixler from membership of the Council Bixler was read by the Clerk and after all of the Council members had Resigns voiced their sincere regrets in the loss of Mr. Bixler from the Council it was moved by Councilman Cawthen and seconed by Coun- cilman Rowlings to accept with regrets the resignation. Motion carried. The Mayor requested the Clerk to have Mr. Carmicle of the Orange County Auto Club to come before the Council the next meeting and explain fully the Insurance Policies we are carrying with them. Ord.#60 Ordinance # 60 fixing the Tax rate to be paid for the current Ord. #61 year and Ordinance # 61 changeing the meeting time of the City has first Council from 8 P.M.to 7 p.m. both had thier first reading. Reading The names of; Warren Gray of El Toro Owne Murry of the Irvine For War Company and John Wyne of Tustin were recomended to be made mem- rationing ers of the War Rationing Board and the Clerk was instructed to Rev.Mills Mr. Willis Warner of the Choice of the Councils for the apoint- Comuflage ment, and the name of Rev. Arthur Mills was recomended for the Officer Comuflage Officer for the District. Resolution Resolution # 126, urging the Railroad Commission to consider our #126 to the needs for Transportation was Adopted by motion of Councilman R.R. Com. Forney seconed by Councilman, Rowlings, Motion Carried. Adopted Bills were presented and on motion of Councilman Forney and sec- oned by Councilman Rowlings thewere orded paid, Motion Carried.
