MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TUSTIN HELD IN THE CITY HALL IN THE CITY OF
TUSTIN AUGUST 3,1942 AT 8 O;CLOCK P.M.
COUNCILMEN:PRESENT: Kidd,Rawlings, Forney and Cawthon
COUNCILMEN ABSENT: Bixler
CITY ATTORNEY GEO. E. BRADLEY WAS PRESENT.
Reading of the minutes of the last regular meeting of July
20th read and approved.
The first business coming before the Council was the report
by County Coordinator Ben Liebermann on the forming a defense
Council of Ten comprising of the Mayor as Chairman and the rest
to be made up of the Citys Officials AND Citizens of the district.
and from among them a Secretary would be chosen. This Council
working in conjunction with the City Council would have the full
responsibility of Civilian defense.
Ord #58 On a motion of Councilman Cawthon and seconed by Councilman
Adopted Rollings Ordinance #58 was adopted this Ordinance is designed
to regulate Camps,Trailor Camps on Sanitation and otherwise.
Roll Call Kidd Aye Rowlings Aye Councilman Forney Aye and Coun-
cilman Cawthon Aye Councilman Bixler Absent. Motion Carried Un-
amiously. The motion called for the despenseing of the second
reading of the Ordinance except by title only.
Ord-#59 This Ordinance no.59 is for the creation of a Defense Council
Adopted and .the prescribing of its duties and responsibilities. The Ad-
option was made by the motion of Councilman, Rowlings and secon-
ed by Councilman Cawthon Roll Call, Councilman Kidd aye, Rowlings
aye Forney Aye and Cawthon Aye Councilman Bixler Absent.
Resol. Resolution #125 fixing and determiming the amount of money
#125 Adp. to be raised on taxation for the expences of running the City
This resolution was adopted by a motion of Councilman Forney
and seconed by Councilman Rawlings the motion carried.
Street The bid to Oil the East end of third Street of George Pickett's
Repair for $66.00 was accepted on a motion of Councilman Rollings and
a second by Councilman Forney. The motiom Carried.
Oiling On a motion by Councilman Cawthon and seconed by Councilman
Obn. Forney Commissioner Tubbs Office was requested to Oil the
Weeds Puncture Vine and Morning Glory along the Streets at a cost to
not excede $20.00 Motion Carried
Several names were placed befor the Council and out of the num-
ber three. Alternates are to be chosen to be added to the Ratio-
ning Board for the District.
Bills were presented and on a motion of Councilman Rowlings and
seconded by Councilman Forney was Ordered Paid. Motion Carried.
