HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1942 05 18 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, HELD IN THE CITY HALL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, MAY 18th 1942, 8 P.M. MEMBERS PRESENT; Councilmen Forney, Rawlings, Cawthon and Bixler, also present was Attorney Bradley, the City Counsellor Absent: Councilman Kidd, because of illness Councilman Forney On a motion of Councilman Bixler which was seconded acts as Mayor by Councilman Rowlings, Councilman Forney was Pro-Tem. nominated to act as Mayor Pro Tem. as there were no other nominations the motion was passed and so ordered. Grammer School A communication from the Correspondence Secretary, P.T.A. makes Mildred L. Preble of tne P.T.A. was handed to the request to close Clerk who was asked to read it before the Board. 3rd. St. from B. to The conmmunication requested the closing of 3rd St. C St. between B and C Streets, the committee explained further the reason for the request was greater safty and more room for the small children of the Primary Dept. of the School. The Board members looked with favor on the request and promised investigate fully the IegaIity of their authority as well as the property owners views on the subject. The Council felt that this matter too would have to be investigated as it was outside the City limits and the City Attorney promised to make an investigation and report back to the Council so that any step that might be taken would be within the Law and wlthin the authority of the Board. Inspection City Attorney Bradley reported a deal in the making agreement to be with the Santa Ana Inspector to do the Inspecting made with Santa for Building, plumbing and Electrical inspection Ana Inspector for the City of Tustin, he said our ordinance would have to be adjusted to this agreement as the way it now stands there is no such provision, however he stated that it could be worked out in an efficient and satisfactory manner. The Clerk was instructed to secure all the up to date Codes. Earl Handley had a suggestion which he felt was good for making the Trash Truck into a dump Truck by installing a Hoist, this would save mantime he stated and make possible the hauling of more trash to the Santa Ana dump. Councilman Cawthon was delegated to look into the feasibility of the instelation and report back to the Council his findings.
