HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1940 08 05 August 5, 1940 Minutes of the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Tustin, held in the City Hall in the City of Tustin, California, August 5, 1940, at 8:00 P. M. Present Councilmen: Wilson, Kidd, Logan, Kiser and Deputy Clerk, Preston Turner. Absent Councilmen: Babcock, Hayden. The minutes of the last regular meeting held on July 15, 1940 were read and approved. Census report Mr. Cock appeared before the Council and made a report of the census taken of the population of the City of Tustin. Written Communications: Written communications were read and there being nothing requiring action, no action was taken thereon. Oral Communications: Audit Copies of the annual audit were received by the report Council from Diehl and Edwards and passed until next meeting. Moved by Logan, seconded by Kidd, that the Chief Police of Police be authorized to purchase a police radio from radio the Radio Television Equipment Company, 207 South Oak Street, Santa Ana, California, being model No. S-19-R, known as "Sky Buddy", for a purchase price of $ 29.50, plus sales tax. Carried and so ordered. Back Moved by Councilman Kidd that necessary steps be license taken to collect back license taxes from all persons who taxes have not paid same. There being no second, and after further discussion, motion was withdrawn and City Attorney requested to report at next meeting upon ways and means of collection of back license tax. Moved by Councilman Kiser, seconded by Councilman Kidd that the following bills be paid and warrants Bills to drawn for their repective amounts: be paid B. F. Handley $ 50.00 D. T. Hayden, City Council Expenses 4.50 First Natonal Bank of Tustin (service bills) 31.18 Diehl and Edwards 105.00 George Balzer, R.F.D., Box 126, Santa Ana 13.45 Becker's Garage 1.50 Carried and so ordered. The comprehensive coverage insurance policy issued by the Orange County Automobile Club to the City of Insurance Tustin was discussed and continued until next meeting policy for final action and to enable the City Attorney to discussed complete an examination thereof. There being no further business to come before the Council, it was moved by Councilman Kiser, seconded by Councilman Logan that the meeting be adjourned. Carried and so ordered.
