Minutes of the regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Tustin, held in the city hall in the City of
Tustin, California, May 6, 1940 at 8:00 P. M.
Present Councilmen: Wilson, Kidd, Babcock, Logan
and Kiser
Absent Councilmen: None
Minutes of the last regular meeting held April 15, 1940
and the adjourned meeting of April 17, 1940 were read and
approved.
Farnsworth Moved by Kiser, seconded by Kidd, that the request of
permit for sign Albert Farnsworth to erect a sign at his place of business
granted be approved and permit granted. Carried and so ordered.
Res. No. 97 Moved by Babcock, seconded by Kidd, that Resolution No.
97 be introduced and adopted, re-appointing D. T. Hayden
City Judge, at a salary of $ 50.00, John L. Stanton, Chief
of Police, at a salary of $ 150.00, John L. Stanton, Street
Superintendent, at a salary of $ 25.00, Preston Turner
City Attorney, at a salary of $ 60.00. Carried and so
ordered.
Runnells Moved by Councilman Babcock, seconded by Councilman
contract Kiser., that the contract with Wayne RunnelIs, for trimming
cancelled and removing trees within the city be cancelled. Carried
and so ordered.
Brown & Ladd Moved by Councilman Babcock, seconded by Councilman
given contract Kiser, that J. H. Brown and Ernest Ladd be granted con-
tract, for removal of said trees as set forth in said writ-
ten contract, at a bid of $ 115.00. Carried and so ordered.
Moved by Councilman Logan, seconded by Councilman Kidd,
that the following bills be paid and warrants drawn for their
respective amounts:
Bills to First National Bank, Tustin, service bills $ 32.65
be paid A. Carlisle and Company 20.26
Flowerday and Pierson 14.39
E. R. Hale 1.24
The Tustin News 16.68
Dr. F. W. Weston 2.00
K. J. Cawthon 13.20
Tustin Fire Department 14.00
R. A. Tieman Typwriter Company 2.50
H. D. Carson 1.59
Tustin Hardware Company 2.11
Carried and so ordered.
Moved by Councilman Babcock, seconded by Councilman
Kiser to adjourn. Carried and so ordered.
