HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1940 04 15337 April 15, 1940 Minutes of the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Tustin, held in the city hall, in the City of Tustin, California, April 15, 1940 at 8:00 P.M. Present Councilmen: Huntley, Logan, Pieper, Kiser and Wilson Absent Councilmen: None Minutes of the last regular meeting held April 1, 1940 were read and approved. The returns of the General Municipal Election held Election April 9, 1940 were canvassed, including on absentee returns ballot, and the name audibly announced with the following canvassed result: · Total number of votes cast in consolidated Precinct "A" comprising State and County Precincts, Tustin No. 1 and Tustin No. 2 were 1429. No. Moved by Councilman Logan, seconded by Councilman 96 Kiser, that Resolution No. 96 be introduced declaring the results of the election. Carried and so ordered. Moved by Councilman Logan, seconded by Councilman Kiser, that Resolution No. 96 be adopted. Carried and so ordered'. · Sidney J. Babcock, Jerome C, Kidd, D. T. Hayden, Oath of and Walter Pollard were declared elected, and a certificate office of election was duly authenticated and signed by the City given Clerk, and delivered to each officer elected and the oath of office imposed and names subscribed thereto. City Clerk was sworn in by Notary Public, William S. Lein- berger. Babcock Moved by Councilman Babcock, seconded by Councilman Pres. of Kidd, that J. L. Wilson be nominated President of the Council City Council and by unanimous vote was elected and so ordered by City Clerk acting president pro tem. Mayor Wilson appointed the following councilmen as commissioners: Commissioners Commissioner of Streets, sidewalks and curbs Kiser appointed Commissioner of Health and Salty Logan Commissioner of Light and Water Babcock Commissioner of Fire and Police Kidd Auditing Kiser & Logan Appointments deferred to Moved by Councilman Kidd, seconded by Councilman next meeting Babcock that further appointments be deferred to the ~'~ next meeting. Carried and so ordered. Harkleroad Moved by Councilman Logan, seconded by Councilman given per- Kiser, that the permit of H. J. Harkleroad to install a mission for 285 gallon gasoline tank at his residence at 194 north tank "A" Street be granted. Carried and so ordered. Moved by Councilman Logan, seconded by Councilman Kiser, that the following bills be paid and warrants be drawn for their respective amounts: Bills to Arthur M. Carson 7.57 Carried and so ordered. Meeting Moved by Councilman Logan, seconded by Councilman Adjourned Kiser, that J. L. Wilson be appointed Committeeman to the April 17 Orange County League of Municipalities. Carried and so ordered. Board denied the conformation of Francis Holford to do the City assessing. Meeting Moved by Councilman Logan, seconded by Councilman adjourned to Kiser to adjourn this meeting to April 17, 1940 at 7:00 April 17. P.M. Carried and so ordered. D. T.
